JBL Live 670NC Wireless On-Ear Headphones with Adaptive ANC and Smart Ambient

For listeners who want to focus on music or study while still having the option to hear their surroundings, the JBL Live 670NC brings noise control and Smart Ambient together in an on-ear design.

Its 40 mm drivers deliver JBL Signature Sound, with JBL Spatial Sound to create a virtual surround effect from stereo content. Bluetooth 5.3 supports wireless listening, while a detachable audio cable offers another way to connect.

For travel and everyday routines, the headphones fold for easier storage. Battery life reaches up to 65 hours, with a five-minute speed charge providing four additional hours of music.

The essentials

True Adaptive Noise Cancelling uses four noise-sensing microphones to adjust noise reduction, helping create a more focused listening space for music, study or travel. When you want to stay aware of what is happening around you, Smart Ambient lets surrounding sounds through without removing the headphones. These modes give you more control over your listening environment than a straightforward pair of wireless headphones without ambient or adaptive noise features.

JBL Signature Sound and JBL Spatial Sound make the Live 670NC suited to music, while Bluetooth 5.3 supports wireless listening with compatible devices. The package details include a USB-C charging cable and detachable audio cable. For calls, two beamforming microphones are designed to capture your voice, and voice assistant access is available by hotword or a tap on the earcup.

Practical tips

Choose Bluetooth for wireless listening with a cell phone, tablet, laptop or another compatible device. If you prefer a cable connection, the detachable audio cable and 3.5 mm headphone jack provide a wired option. For a quicker return to listening when the battery is low, a five-minute charge adds up to four hours of music. The listed battery life is up to 65 hours, with Bluetooth and True Adaptive Noise Cancelling on, it is up to 50 hours.

Auto play and pause adds a simple touch to everyday listening: playback pauses when you take the headphones off and resumes when you put them back on. Their foldable design also makes them easier to pack for a commute or trip.

Everyday use

On a commute, use noise cancelling to reduce distractions, then switch to Smart Ambient when you want to hear more of your surroundings. At home, JBL Spatial Sound can add a virtual surround effect to stereo content, while the wireless connection suits music, movies and games. Video Mode is described as keeping sound and visuals in sync for movies and games.

Customer opinions on sound and battery life are positive overall, with some listeners particularly enjoying the bass. Experiences with comfort and noise cancelling vary, so an on-ear fit and listening preferences are worth considering when choosing headphones. The Live 670NC keeps useful controls close at hand, including voice assistant access and auto play and pause.
