JBL Go 4 JBLGO4BLUAM Portable Bluetooth Speaker, IP67, 7-Hour Battery

The IP67 waterproof and dustproof rating makes the JBL Go 4 easier to bring along for a poolside break or a picnic, while its compact format keeps it portable for everyday outings.

It connects over Bluetooth and offers up to 7 hours of playtime on a charge. Playtime Boost can add up to 2 hours, with the speaker adjusting its performance for louder, crisper sound.

One point to factor into your choice: a single Go 4 plays in mono. Stereo sound requires pairing two Go 4 speakers, Auracast can also connect multiple compatible speakers.

The useful distinction is its emphasis on grab-and-go listening rather than filling a room with a single stereo speaker. Bluetooth supports everyday listening from a compatible device, and Auracast offers a way to link with other Auracast-enabled speakers when more coverage is wanted. For a commute, a weekend bag or music near the water, its small size and stated protection are practical considerations. The IP67 rating is a specific product detail, not a reason to overlook the care instructions that apply to any electronic device.

Usage tips

For a short outing, the built-in battery avoids needing a separate power source during use, the stated playtime is up to 7 hours, with Playtime Boost adding up to 2 hours. The Boost feature also changes sound performance, so it is worth choosing it when extra volume and clarity matter more than keeping the standard listening setting.

If you want a stereo presentation, plan to pair two Go 4 speakers. For a broader setup, Auracast can connect multiple supported speakers wirelessly. It suits you if you want a small speaker for personal listening, travel or outdoor get-togethers without carrying a larger setup. It may not suit you if stereo from one speaker is a requirement.

Buyers often praise the compact size, portability and sound, and some say Bluetooth pairing is straightforward. Battery-life feedback is mixed, though, so the stated maximum should not be treated as a guaranteed runtime for every listening session.

Practical tips

The product information does not list what is included in the box, so it does not confirm whether any accessories come with the speaker. The recycled-material detail applies to some of the speaker’s plastic and grille fabric, the packaging is described as FSC-certified paper printed with soy ink.

Questions before you buy

Does one JBL Go 4 provide stereo sound? No. The listed mode is mono for a single speaker, stereo is available when two Go 4 speakers are paired.

Can it be used near a pool or at the beach? The speaker is rated IP67 for water and dust protection, making those settings relevant use cases in the product information.

How long can it play before charging? JBL states up to 7 hours, with Playtime Boost adding up to 2 hours. Buyer feedback on battery life varies, so actual experience may differ.

Should you buy it?

Choose the Go 4 if portability, Bluetooth listening and an IP67 water- and dust-protection rating matter more than stereo from a single unit. Its stated playtime and compact dimensions make it suited to taking music between rooms or packing for an outing. If you want stereo, the purchase decision includes pairing a second Go 4, if longer listening sessions are central, keep in mind that the battery figure is an advertised maximum and buyer impressions of battery life are not uniform.
