Getting the most from it

The TR621 is designed for listening across formats without switching between separate devices. Put on a CD, revisit cassette tapes, tune into AM/FM radio or play supported audio from USB or a TF/Micro SD card. For a kitchen or living room, the two-speaker stereo setup makes it easy to share music in the space, connect headphones when you’d rather listen privately.

Its cassette recording function adds a hands-on option for making tape recordings from supported sources, including radio, CDs, USB and TF cards. Blank tapes are needed for recording. You can program the order of CD tracks and select repeat playback modes to suit a favourite album or a longer listening session. A retractable antenna supports radio reception, and the controls are described as straightforward, with a remote control available for music and volume adjustments.

In a practical home routine, keep the boombox in the kitchen for radio while preparing a meal, then switch to a CD or cassette when you want a familiar playlist. For outings, battery power gives you another way to use it away from a wall outlet. Buyers often highlight the range of playback choices and ease of use, feedback on overall functionality varies, and some express disappointment with the remote control.

Included in the pack

The pack includes the Retekess TR621 player, an AC power cable, a remote control and an owner’s manual. This gives you the main components for setting up the unit at home and using its playback features. For tape recording, have a blank cassette ready.

Is it worth it?

Compared with a player focused on just one format, the TR621 combines CDs, cassettes, radio and digital-file playback in a single unit. That mix is useful if you still have a tape or CD collection but also want to play MP3 or WMA files from USB or Micro SD. Its headphone jack, stereo speakers and choice of AC or battery power support different listening settings, from private music at home to portable playback. Worth considering if you want one boombox to bring older media and everyday radio together.
