DUOFIRE DS001-44400 Frosted Window Film, 44.3 x 400 cm Static Cling

At 44.3 x 400 cm, this vinyl film gives you a roll to trim for a suitable window or glass panel. Its pure frosted finish adds privacy while letting soft natural light through. The static-cling, no-glue design suits spaces where you want a change that can be repositioned or removed. Choose it for a window that should stay bright, rather than a covering that blocks the glass completely.

Pros

The frosted finish turns clear glass into a more private surface, making this film useful for bathroom windows, bedroom glazing, office meeting rooms and living areas. The manufacturer states that it provides over 95% privacy from 20 cm away, while still allowing soft natural light in. That combination can help make a room feel more sheltered without relying on a fully opaque covering.

The film also blocks over 96% of harmful UV rays, helping protect indoor furnishings from fading. Its static-cling application avoids glue, allows positioning during installation and supports residue-free removal. It can be reused when it is not damaged or smudged, which is practical for renters or anyone who may want to change a window treatment later. Buyers commonly praise the privacy, appearance and straightforward application, some also report difficulty getting rid of bubbles, and feedback on how well it stays attached is mixed.

At a glance

Practical tips

Start with clean, smooth, non-textured glass. Spray plenty of water on the glass and the film’s back, remove the protective backing, then position the film. Smoothing from the centre towards the edges with a hard card helps push out water and air bubbles, trim the edges once it is in place. Soapy water is recommended for application, and the film is easier to reposition while wet.

This film is intended for glass surfaces. The manufacturer advises against using it on vacuum glass, double-glazed glass, figured glass or wired glass exposed to direct sunlight for long periods, as heat absorption may cause glass breakage. For a neat fit, plan the film around the panel and trim excess after application.

Buying verdict

DUOFIRE’s frosted film is a practical choice when the aim is to add privacy without losing the feel of daylight. Compared with a fixed, glue-backed treatment, its water-applied static cling is useful when you value repositioning and residue-free removal, including in rental spaces. The 44.3 x 400 cm roll can be trimmed for a window, door or cabinet with a suitable smooth glass surface, while the frosted finish and UV protection bring useful benefits to everyday rooms.
