NICETOWN Outdoor Curtains, 52 x 72 in
Product description
For anyone looking to add shade and privacy to a patio, porch or gazebo, these NICETOWN outdoor curtains combine a dark navy finish with water-resistant polyester. The pack contains two panels, each measuring 52 in wide by 72 in long, so you can plan the coverage around your opening rather than assuming one panel will span the whole space.
Their grommets are designed for straightforward hanging, while the fabric’s stated UV and fade-resistance features suit areas that get regular sun. If you prioritise shade and a more enclosed feel, these offer more than a basic screen, if you prefer an airy, open patio, a lighter or less opaque covering may be a better fit.
Getting the most from it
Each panel has eight rust-resistant stainless steel grommets with a 1.6 in inner diameter, intended for standard 1.2 in curtain rods. Measure the rod and the space before choosing where to hang them, and account for the two separate panels when judging how much of the opening they will cover. For example, on a sunny afternoon, drawing them across a gazebo edge can create a shaded sitting area and add privacy from nearby sightlines.
The polyester fabric has a dual-layer water-resistant coating, and the product description says it can be wiped clean with a damp cloth. That makes everyday splashes and light rain easier to manage than with absorbent fabric, but these are still curtains rather than a sealed enclosure: wind-driven rain can reach around the edges, and they won’t replace a solid weather barrier.
Why it’s worth it
The appeal is the combination of outdoor shading, privacy and fabric designed to resist fading. The listed fade-resistance result is Grade 4 under the stated AATCC test, and the fabric is described as UPF 50+ with 99% UV blockage. Those details may matter if the curtains will stay exposed to strong sunlight, though actual shade depends on how they’re positioned and how much of the opening they cover.
It makes sense if you want a fabric screen that can be opened or drawn closed as needed, rather than a fixed panel that permanently blocks the view. The description also notes a three-layer weave intended to soften light and reduce some traffic or wind noise, treat that as a modest comfort feature, not soundproofing. Given its design, the main trade-off is that the heavier, blackout-style fabric may feel too enclosing where you want to keep a bright, unobstructed outlook.
Key features
- Two navy polyester panels, each 52 in wide by 72 in long.
- Eight stainless steel grommets per panel, with a 1.6 in inner diameter.
- Water-resistant coating and stated Grade 4 fade resistance.
- UPF 50+ protection and a blackout-style fabric description.
- Machine washable and ironable, according to the product details.
The listing also describes the fabric as 220 gsm and gives a stated operating range from -4°F to 140°F. Those specifications help frame the intended outdoor use, but they don’t establish how the curtains will perform in every exposure or installation.
When to choose them
Choose these if a patio, porch or gazebo needs adjustable shade and more privacy, and the panel dimensions suit your opening. They’re also worth considering when you want a washable fabric option instead of a fixed screen. It’s not for you if you need a fully weather-sealed barrier, want a sheer curtain that keeps the view clear, or can’t use a rod compatible with the listed grommet size. Check the dimensions against your space first, the two-panel pack doesn’t guarantee full coverage for every doorway or pergola opening.
