It brings numeric entry, customizable lighting, and a distinctive look to a desk setup for work, gaming, or everyday typing.

Choose Bluetooth, 2.4 GHz wireless, or USB-C wired mode to suit your setup, with support for Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS.

Tech summary

The C98 combines practical controls with features for personalizing both feel and appearance: - Layout: 96% with a dedicated number pad - Switches: Milk V2 linear mechanical switches - Keycaps: Dye-sublimated PBT in MOA profile - Connectivity: Bluetooth 5.0, 2.4 GHz wireless, and USB-C wired - Customization: Hot-swappable PCB, RGB backlighting, and programmable keys - Dimensions: 15.98 x 6.6 x 1.73 inches

Its gasket-mounted construction and sound-absorbing layers are designed to give keystrokes a softer, smoother character. The linear switches are factory-lubed, while the RGB effects and themed side lighting let you tailor the keyboard’s look. Web-based customization software for Windows and Mac supports key remapping, macros, and lighting adjustments. The hot-swap socket supports 3-pin and 5-pin mechanical switches, so you can change switches without soldering.

Getting the most from it

Use the number pad for spreadsheets, data entry, or other tasks involving frequent number input, then switch to gaming or general typing without changing keyboards. The three connection modes make it easier to choose a wired setup at a desk or wireless connections for compatible devices. The keyboard can connect with up to five devices, and its rechargeable 10,000 mAh battery supports wireless use.

Want to personalize more than the lighting? Hot-swapping gives you a way to explore different compatible switches, while programmable keys and macros let you adapt the layout to your workflow. Buyers also praise the playful keycap design, appealing colors, smooth typing feel, and sound. That feedback complements the C98’s practical appeal without taking away from its main advantage: a number pad in a distinctive, customizable mechanical keyboard.

In the box

The package includes a 2.4 GHz dongle, dust cover, extra keycaps and switches, keycap puller, and user manual. Decorative stickers are also described as part of the themed accessory set. These items support setup, protection, and basic customization right out of the box.

Buying verdict

The YUNZII C98 is a strong fit for anyone who wants a dedicated number pad without choosing a conventional full-size keyboard, and who values a playful design alongside mechanical-keyboard customization. Its three connection modes serve different desk and device setups, while the PBT MOA keycaps, linear switches, gasket mount, and hot-swappable PCB give the typing experience a clear identity. For a home office, gaming station, or everyday workspace where numeric input and a personalized look both matter, the C98 brings those priorities together.
