UIRWAY 14x28FT Solar Pool Cover, 16 Mil Blue PE Bubble Blanket

For a pool that loses warmth overnight or collects leaves and other debris, the UIRWAY 14x28FT solar pool cover floats directly on the water. Its blue polyethylene bubble blanket is designed to retain some solar heat and help keep debris out.

The 16 mil material and UV-resistant layer are intended for repeated outdoor use. The cover does not heat water on its own, it helps limit heat loss after sunlight warms the pool.

This is a different approach from a basic debris-only cover: it is designed to address both heat retention and surface protection. Whether that combination suits your pool depends on its shape and how you plan to handle the cover.

Fit and sizing

The product is identified as 14 x 28 ft, with listed dimensions of 336 inches long by 168 inches wide. The product details describe a rectangle, but a separate shape field says round. That inconsistency makes it important to compare the listed dimensions with your pool before choosing it. The cover can be trimmed with scissors to fit, including irregular shapes, so the listed size may provide material to customize rather than a finished fit for every pool.

It floats directly on the water and requires no assembly or inflation. That makes placement relatively straightforward, though a large sheet may take more handling than a smaller cover. Buyers describe cutting and putting it on or taking it off as easy, while feedback on sizing is mixed: some find it large and adaptable, and others are less satisfied with the fit.

Why it’s worth it

The bubble structure is intended to hold heat from sunlight and reduce heat loss, while the UV-resistant layer is designed to help the cover withstand sun exposure. The listing also says it can reduce evaporation and keep debris and contaminants out. Those are useful aims for someone who wants one floating cover to serve more than one purpose, but the stated evaporation reduction is a product claim, not a guaranteed result for every pool.

Customer feedback on warmth is divided. Some buyers say the pool stays warmer, others report no increase in water temperature. That difference matters because the cover retains some solar heat rather than generating heat. If actively warming the water is your main need, a dedicated heating approach serves a different purpose. Worth considering if you want a customizable floating cover for heat retention and debris control, with results depending on sunlight and use.

Technical overview

• Model: 14x28FT
• Material: 16 mil polyethylene (PE)
• Color: Blue
• Dimensions: 336 inches long x 168 inches wide
• Installation: Floating, no assembly or inflation required
• Fit: Can be trimmed with scissors

The manufacturer describes the cover as suitable for inground and above-ground pools. The available details do not specify a storage method or a finished edge after trimming, so those may matter if you want a particular handling setup.

When it makes sense

This cover makes sense when your pool dimensions can accommodate the listed sheet and you want a floating layer that can be cut to shape. For example, it could be placed on the water after swimming to help limit overnight heat loss and keep some debris from reaching the pool. It is not a substitute for a pool heater, and the mixed buyer feedback suggests that warmth results can vary.

It's not for you if you need equipment that actively heats water rather than helping retain solar warmth. If you are comparing it with a simpler cover intended only to block debris, the UIRWAY’s added focus is heat retention and UV protection, the practical choice depends on whether those functions, and the need to trim the sheet, fit your pool routine.
