Yankee Pool Pillow YPC-RO- 24 Round Above-Ground Winter Pool Cover

When it’s time to close a 24-foot round above-ground pool for winter, this Yankee Pool Pillow cover pairs a polyethylene shell with a cable-and-winch fastening system to help secure the pool through the off-season. Its four-foot overlap gives extra coverage around the pool edge, while the blue top and black underside are designed for seasonal use.

Compared with a basic pool tarp, this cover adds reinforced grommets, a steel-core cable, and a molded winch for a snugger fit. The UV-resistant coating and cold-weather design also make it a practical choice for winterizing an above-ground pool.

Strengths

The cover’s polyethylene material has a 14 × 14 scrim count and a density of 185 GSM. An LDPE coating is designed to withstand solar UV exposure, and the black underside helps prevent water from overgrowing. Together, these details support a cover intended to protect a pool during the winter season.

For a secure fit, thread the steel-core cable through the reinforced metal grommets, then tighten it with the molded winch. The four-foot overlap offers additional coverage around the pool, while the winch helps draw the cover neatly into place. The stated temperature range is −10°F to 180°F.

Buyers often praise the cover’s thickness, weight, appearance, and functionality. Feedback on durability is mixed: some report that it lasts through harsh winters, while others say it did not feel as heavy-duty or last as long as they expected. That range of experiences is useful context when comparing seasonal covers.
