Snowkids DT-8K-30M-003 HDMI 2.1 Fiber Optic Cable, 100 ft, 48Gbps

For home or office setups that need an HDMI connection over a long distance, the Snowkids DT-8K-30M-003 provides a 100-foot fiber optic cable. It supports HDMI 2.1 features and up to 48Gbps bandwidth. Its braided exterior and directional connectors make it suited to planned routes between a source device and a display.

Best use cases

Use this cable to connect an HDMI source to a TV, monitor, projector, or sound system across a room or along a longer indoor or outdoor route. The 100-foot length can help when source equipment and the screen are positioned far apart, such as a projector at the back of a room or a display mounted away from a media setup. It also works with compatible devices such as laptops, PCs, game consoles, and Blu-ray players.

Because the cable is unidirectional, connect the end marked SOURCE to the signal source and the end marked DISPLAY to the screen or other display device. This makes the cable’s intended path clear when planning a long connection.

Why it’s worth it

This cable brings high-bandwidth HDMI 2.1 support to a long-distance connection, with video support up to 8K@60Hz and 4K@120Hz. It also supports TrueHD 7.1 audio and HDR color depth, making it useful for connecting compatible home theater equipment as well as displays. Backward compatibility with earlier HDMI versions helps it fit into setups that include a mix of newer and older HDMI devices.

The braided nylon exterior and gold-plated ports add practical details for a cable that may be routed around a room or connected as part of a permanent setup. Buyer feedback praises picture quality, while opinions on durability, flexibility, and video performance vary. For a long connection, planning the route and matching the SOURCE and DISPLAY ends to the correct devices are important parts of setup.

Practical questions

Can the cable carry a signal in either direction? No. It is unidirectional: connect SOURCE to the source device and DISPLAY to the screen or display device.

What video formats does it support? The cable supports 8K@60Hz and 4K@120Hz, along with 3D, 2K, and 1080p. The connected devices must also support the format you want to use.

Which devices can it connect? It is designed for HDMI devices, including TVs, laptops, monitors, PCs, PS5, Xbox consoles, projectors, Blu-ray players, and sound or video systems.

When it makes sense

Choose the Snowkids cable when a setup calls for a long HDMI run and you want HDMI 2.1 bandwidth, support for high-resolution video, and a braided fiber optic design. Its 100-foot length suits room-scale connections between equipment placed apart, while the labeled directional ends help guide installation from source to display.
