INKGAGE PG-240XL Black Ink Cartridges for Canon PIXMA Printers, 2-Pack

The XL black cartridge format is intended to print more pages between replacements than a standard PG-240 cartridge. This INKGAGE PG-240XL listing is for Canon PIXMA inkjet printers and names models including the MG3620, MG3600, MX472, MX452, MX512, and MX532. The listing’s pack contents and yield figures do not fully agree, so check the exact variant details before ordering.

Where it shines

This is a compatible, single-color black ink cartridge option for everyday documents printed on plain paper. The XL designation may suit a home or small-office printer that handles regular text printing and where replacing cartridges less often is useful. It is a different buying approach from choosing a standard-yield PG-240: the listing describes the PG-240XL as a higher-capacity option and gives about 600 pages per cartridge at 5% coverage, compared with 180 pages for the standard PG-240. Actual page counts depend on print coverage, and those figures are listing claims rather than a guaranteed result.

Compatibility is the main practical consideration. The provided lists name several PIXMA MG and MX models, including MG2120, MG3520, MG3600, MG3620, MX432, MX452, MX472, MX512, and MX532, other parts of the listing also mention TS5100 and TS5120. If your printer is not among the models named, the information here does not establish that this cartridge will work with it. Match the printer’s full model number to the compatibility details before choosing a replacement.

What to know

The listing describes a compatible cartridge, not a Canon-branded original. It says each cartridge has a smart chip for printer recognition and ink-level display, but that statement is not a guarantee for every printer or setup. The supplied details also give inconsistent yield information: one specification says 1,200 pages, while the product description says approximately 600 pages per cartridge at 5% coverage. Treat the per-cartridge figure as the clearer estimate, not as a promise of a fixed number of pages.

There is also a discrepancy about what comes in the package. The product name identifies two black cartridges, while the box contents are described elsewhere as one black and one color cartridge. That difference matters if you specifically need two black replacements. Confirm the selected pack’s contents rather than relying on either description alone. The listing does not provide other performance measurements that would support a broader comparison of print quality or cartridge life.

Practical tips

Before buying, check your printer’s exact model number and compare it with the compatibility list, especially if you have a TS-series printer, since TS models appear in some parts of the listing but not others. Check the package description for the color and number of cartridges as well. For mostly text documents, the black-only cartridge format is relevant, if you need color printing, this listing’s conflicting pack details make it particularly important to verify what is included. The listed yield assumes 5% page coverage, so pages with heavier ink coverage may not match the stated estimate.

Buying verdict

It makes sense if you need a compatible black cartridge for a specifically listed PIXMA printer and want to consider an XL format instead of a standard-yield PG-240. It’s not for you if you need certainty about receiving two black cartridges or require a dependable page-count promise: the listing conflicts on both pack contents and yield. Resolve those details first, then use the exact printer model—not just the cartridge name—as the deciding compatibility check.
