HP Gaming Desktop Ryzen 7 5700X
Product description
A gaming desktop that also needs to handle streaming, recording, and everyday multitasking can be difficult to spec without paying for power you may not use. The HP OMEN 45L pairs a Ryzen 7 5700X with an RTX 3060 Ti, plus 64GB of memory and a 1TB SSD, giving you a ready-to-use Windows 11 Home tower with room for several demanding tasks at once.
Its liquid cooling and glass-and-RGB design add to the appeal, though the listed components matter more than the lighting when deciding whether it fits your games and workload.
Key specifications
The system uses an 8-core AMD Ryzen 7 5700X processor with boost speeds up to 4.60 GHz and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti with 8GB of GDDR6 memory. That graphics card supports ray tracing and DLSS, while the processor and 64GB of DDR4 RAM are suited to keeping a game, stream, and other applications running together. Actual performance depends on the game, settings, and display, the promotional frame-rate claims are not a guarantee for every setup.
A 1TB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD provides the main storage, and the 240mm AIO liquid cooler is paired with three 120mm ARGB front fans. The tower also has an 800W 80 Plus Gold power supply, Windows 11 Home, Gigabit Ethernet, HDMI and DisplayPort outputs, USB-C, and a bundled USB Wi-Fi adapter. On the spec sheet, that is a generous memory configuration, but the listed 1TB drive may feel limiting if you keep a large game library installed at once.
Who it’s for
It suits you if you want one desktop for gaming and multitasking, rather than a bare-bones gaming build that prioritizes the graphics card and leaves less memory for streaming, recording, or other open applications. For example, you could play while keeping a stream and chat tools open, then use the same machine for GPU-accelerated creative work. The RTX 3060 Ti’s 8GB of dedicated memory is a meaningful constraint to weigh for especially demanding graphics workloads or high settings, buyers focused on those needs may prefer a system built around a more powerful graphics card.
The tempered-glass tower, RGB lighting, and OMEN Light Studio controls make the case’s appearance part of the setup. Not the best choice if you want a compact PC: this is a tower, and the listing does not give its dimensions. A wired connection is available through RJ-45, while the included Wi-Fi adapter offers a wireless alternative.
Everyday use
The combination is geared toward a desk setup where gaming is only part of the routine. Connect a monitor through HDMI or DisplayPort, plug in over Ethernet if you prefer a wired network, and use the USB ports for accessories. The cooling system and front fans are included in the design, but the description does not provide noise measurements, so it cannot establish how quiet the desktop will be during a long gaming session.
This approach favors a complete, high-memory tower over a simpler build with fewer multitasking resources. The tradeoff is that there is no listed monitor or other gaming peripheral, so plan around the display and accessories you already own or intend to use.
Questions before you buy
Does it include wireless networking? Yes. The description lists a bundled USB Wi-Fi adapter, as well as Gigabit Ethernet and an RJ-45 connection.
Can it connect to more than one display? HDMI and DisplayPort outputs are listed, but the product details do not state how many displays can be used simultaneously.
Is the memory or storage upgradeable? The listing specifies 64GB of DDR4 RAM and a 1TB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD, but it does not provide upgrade limits or available slots. Check the configuration details before buying if expansion is a priority.
Buying verdict
The HP OMEN 45L makes sense if you want a Windows gaming tower with an 8-core Ryzen 7, RTX 3060 Ti, liquid cooling, and substantial memory for gaming alongside other applications. Its clearest compromises are the 8GB graphics memory, the 1TB listed storage, and the lack of stated dimensions or noise information. Choose it for the included component mix and multitasking headroom, look elsewhere if a smaller case, confirmed expansion options, or more graphics headroom is central to your decision.
