Gagalay Ink Cartridges 4-Pack

Key points

Running low on one color can interrupt a whole batch of office documents, even when the other cartridges still have ink. This Gagalay 952XL combo pack replaces black, cyan, magenta, and yellow together, so it’s a practical fit for a home office or small workplace that uses all four colors. The listed yields are up to 2,000 pages for black and 1,600 pages for each color cartridge, based on 5% coverage of A4 paper. Those figures give you a useful point of comparison, but they aren’t a promise for every mix of text, charts, and images.

The set is described as compatible with select HP OfficeJet and OfficeJet Pro printers, including the 8710, 7740, 8720, and 8210. It includes one cartridge in each of the four colors. Keep in mind that automatic printer updates may interrupt printing with compatible cartridges, the product instructions recommend turning off automatic updates to help avoid that issue. That tradeoff matters if you prefer to leave printer settings untouched.

Best use cases

This pack makes the most sense when you need a complete color set for routine printing rather than a single replacement color. Think of printing a week’s worth of school handouts, invoices, or a report with colored charts: having black and all three color cartridges on hand can prevent a mid-job run to replace another cartridge. It suits you if your printer is among the listed compatible models and your usual work includes both black text and color pages.

It’s a less straightforward choice if you only need one color right now, or if you want cartridges from the printer manufacturer rather than a compatible alternative. Check your exact printer model against the compatibility list before ordering, the product name covers many printer models, but that doesn’t establish compatibility with every HP printer.

Tips for day-to-day use

The stated yields are based on 5% coverage, without that measurement as a reference, the numbers can be misleading for pages with heavier graphics. A page filled with photos or dense color blocks will use ink differently from a mostly text-based document. If you print a mix of both, treat the advertised yields as estimates rather than a way to predict exactly when each cartridge will run out.

The listing says the cartridges have an updated chip and are intended to work with compatible printers, including those with newer firmware. At the same time, it warns that automatic updates may interfere. If uninterrupted printing is important, read the included instructions and consider how you handle printer updates before installing the set. Packaging may also differ from website images, while the listed contents remain a four-cartridge set.

Before you decide

Which colors are included? One black, one cyan, one magenta, and one yellow 952XL cartridge.

What page yield is listed? Up to 2,000 pages for black and up to 1,600 for each color, with the stated figures based on 5% A4 coverage.

Which printers does the listing name? It includes models such as the OfficeJet Pro 8710, 7740, 8720, and 8210, along with other OfficeJet and OfficeJet Pro models. Confirm your exact model before buying.

When it makes sense

Choose this set if you need all four colors for a listed printer and are comfortable using compatible cartridges while paying attention to update settings. You may want to skip it if you need only one replacement, want to avoid any possibility of firmware-related interruption, or can’t confirm your printer model in the compatibility information. That distinction is more useful than judging the pack by its maximum page-yield figures alone.
