cideny RMG3455 Retractable Baby Gate 2-Pack, 55-Inch Mesh, 34-Inch Tall

Create a flexible barrier between a busy kitchen and living area, or block access to a hallway while children or pets are nearby. The cideny RMG3455 set includes two retractable mesh gates, each extending up to 55 inches wide and standing 34 inches tall, so you can manage separate openings around the home.

When an opening needs to be clear, retract the mesh instead of leaving a rigid panel across the walkway. The white finish and slim, wall-mounted design keep the barrier visually simple when it is in use and out of the way when retracted.

• Quantity: Two gates
• Dimensions: 55 inches wide by 34 inches tall
• Material: Metal

The adjustable width makes this gate suitable for doorways, hallways, and other openings up to 55 inches across. A double-lock closure is designed to be challenging for toddlers while remaining operable by adults with one hand. That can be useful when carrying a baby or household items and needing to pass through the opening.

Unlike a fixed barrier that stays across the passage when open, the mesh retracts when the gate is not needed. The design also has no bottom rail, keeping the floor-level path clear as adults move through and toddlers practice walking. What helps when a gate needs to serve both as a child barrier and a way to guide pets away from certain rooms? The retractable format lets the same opening switch between a barrier and a clear walkway.

Tips for day-to-day use

Use the two gates to separate different areas, such as a kitchen entrance and a stairway approach, or to manage access between indoor rooms and a patio. The product is intended for babies, toddlers, children, and pets, including dogs. Choose an opening within the gate’s stated width and mount the brackets to the wall as directed. The lower brackets sit 6.5 inches above the floor, allowing installation without drilling into baseboards.

For daily passage, release the lock and retract the mesh, close and lock it again when the barrier is needed. Buyers’ comments are mixed on ease of operation and sturdiness: some appreciate how the gate retracts and locks, while others report sticking locks or concerns about durability and installation hardware. Following the mounting instructions and checking that the gate is locked before relying on it are practical parts of using a wall-mounted barrier.

Included in the package

The package includes two retractable gates and the installation accessories. With two gates in the set, you can address more than one opening without choosing a separate barrier for each space.

Buying verdict

It suits you if you want a wall-mounted gate set for managing access around more than one doorway, hallway, or similar opening. The 55-inch maximum width, 34-inch height, retractable mesh, and one-handed double lock bring together flexible placement and a walkway that can be cleared when the barrier is not needed. For homes balancing child and pet access, the two-gate format offers a practical way to create designated boundaries in multiple areas.
