The large, glare-free screen supports comfortable reading and writing in different lighting, indoors or outside. Use the Scribe to replace separate paper notebooks while keeping books and notes together. For a reading-focused device without writing tools, a standard e-reader may be a better fit, the Scribe is designed for people who want to annotate and keep ideas alongside their reading.
What it works with
Send documents and PDFs to the Scribe using Send to Kindle, then write directly on the page to mark up material or capture thoughts. When reading a book, Active Canvas makes space for notes on the page. Expand the margins to continue writing, or collapse them to return to the original page view. This gives readers a practical way to keep reactions and ideas connected to the passage they came from.
Tips for day-to-day use
For a meeting, class, or planning session, open a notebook and write with the Premium Pen, the paper-like writing feel is designed to make capturing ideas straightforward. Later, built-in notebook tools can convert handwriting into readable text, summarize notes, or adjust their length and tone. For reading, the front-lit display supports sessions in varied lighting, while the battery is rated for months of reading or weeks of writing on a single charge.
Customer feedback often highlights the paper-like writing experience, screen size, and usefulness for both reading and note-taking. Some customers also describe the interface as awkward, and feedback on battery life is mixed. Others report freezing or slow responses, so experiences with responsiveness and reliability vary.
