Practical tips
Use the color highlighting options to mark favorite scenes in yellow, orange, blue, or pink, making passages easier to spot when you return to them. The glare-free screen and front light that adjusts automatically support reading in bright sunlight as well as later in the day. For a day by the pool or a relaxing bath, the waterproof design adds flexibility to where you can read.
A single USB-C charge lasts up to 8 weeks, and a wireless charging dock is another way to power the reader. That dock is sold separately. For finding something new to read, the Kindle Store offers access to more than 15 million titles worldwide, a Kindle Unlimited subscription is also available for access to its catalog, including best sellers.
The choice between a straightforward text-focused reader and a color display comes down to what you want to see on the page. Color covers and illustrations, along with four highlight colors, give this Kindle an added visual dimension while it remains suited to everyday reading. It’s a great fit if color-coded highlights and the flexibility to read in different environments are part of your routine.
Before you decide
Buyers often praise the color display, functionality, battery life, and page turning. Feedback on screen quality and responsiveness is more mixed: some describe the display as crisp and responsive, while others find it less sharp or slower. Opinions on size also vary, with some appreciating its compact feel and others finding it large. These impressions can help set expectations, while the core draw is clear: color reading, adjustable front lighting, and a waterproof design.
What can you highlight? You can mark passages in yellow, orange, blue, and pink, giving you several colors to organize favorite scenes.
How can you charge it? Charge via USB-C, or use a wireless charging dock sold separately. A single USB-C charge lasts up to 8 weeks.
Where can you use it? The waterproof design makes it suitable for reading by the pool, in the bath, and in other everyday settings. The glare-free display and auto-adjusting front light also adapt to bright sunlight and late-night reading.
Is it worth it?
This Kindle makes sense for readers who want more than a standard text display: the 7-inch color screen supports colorful covers and content, and its colored highlights make marking passages more expressive. Add the auto-adjusting front light, waterproof construction, 32GB of storage, and flexible charging, and it’s a practical choice for bringing a broad reading library to the couch, the pool, or a nighttime routine.
