Vobafe Keyboard Case for iPad A16 11th/10th Gen (11/10.9 inch) with UK Layout – Blue Gary
Product description
What it is
The Vobafe keyboard case combines a protective shell with a Bluetooth keyboard designed for iPad models that use the A16 chip (11th Generation, 11 inch, 2025) and the 10th Generation 10.9 inch (2022). It includes a detachable keyboard, a pencil holder, and a choice of seven backlight colours. It is tailored for users who want to turn their iPad into a more versatile workspace without carrying a separate laptop.
Who it’s for
If you prioritise practicality for study, work notes, or light content creation on the go, this case aims to offer a compact laptop-like experience. It’s particularly useful for students or professionals who value flexibility: you can detach the keyboard when you need tablet portability, then reattach for longer typing sessions.
Design and build
The case provides protection around the iPad while housing a Bluetooth keyboard. The keyboard features seven backlight colours and three brightness levels to help you type in dim environments. The setup is magnetically detachable, so you can reposition or remove the keyboard as needed. A pencil holder is included, which is handy for notes and sketches.
Keyboard and backlight
The backlit keyboard is designed to be responsive with minimal typing delay. It connects via Bluetooth and supports a range of shortcuts compatible with iOS, Windows and Android. The RGB backlight is controlled via a dedicated button, and the overall keyboard energy management aims to deliver longer life between charges.
Battery life and charging
The keyboard has a built-in 420mAh battery, designed to be energy-efficient. It can last for up to a long period of use (the device claims at least 230 hours under practical conditions). Recharge time is around 2 hours using a Type-C cable, so there’s no need to replace batteries.
How it attaches and uses
Magnetic attachment allows easy detachment and reattachment, making it simple to convert the iPad into a laptop or revert to a pure tablet for reading or sketching. The product is designed with viewing angles in mind, offering three grooves to adjust the screen for comfortable typing and viewing.
Compatibility and limits
The case is stated to work with iPad A16 11th Generation 11 inch (Model Numbers A3354/A3355/A3356) and iPad 10th Generation 10.9 inch (Model Numbers A2696/A2757/A2777). It is not compatible with certain newer iPad Air models or older iPad variants. Before buying, check the model number on the back of your iPad (it should start with 'A').
What to consider before buying
If you rely on very long battery life without recharging, you’ll want to compare real-world battery usage since keyboard usage and backlighting can affect endurance. The detachable design is practical, but some users may prefer a case with integrated stand without detaching the keyboard for every session. Also, while there are seven backlight colours, the brightness and legibility can vary by lighting conditions and personal taste.
How it compares to alternatives
This solution sits between a basic protective case and a full laptop alternative. If you mainly type in bright environments or require prolonged all-day battery life, a non-backlit keyboard or a setup with a dedicated laptop may offer higher reliability. For those who value portability and the ability to switch between tablet and keyboard, this option provides flexible use without committing to more expensive accessories.
FAQ (where data allows)
- Does it come with a UK keyboard layout? Yes, the product description specifies a UK layout.
- Is the keyboard truly wireless? It connects via Bluetooth, so there’s no direct cable from the iPad to the keyboard.
- How long does the battery last in backlight mode? The stated claim is up to 230 hours of usage, though real-world life depends on backlight use and connectivity.
- Can the keyboard be used with other devices? The keyboard supports IOS, Windows, and Android systems, but the case is designed for iPad models named above.
Is it worth it?
This is a sensible option if you want a detachable keyboard solution that adds typing capability and a pencil holder to compatible iPads, without buying a separate laptop. It makes sense for those who value versatility and compact form factor, particularly for study or light work. It may not be the best fit if you need the longest possible battery life in keyboard backlight mode or if you require a built-in stand that doesn’t require detaching the keyboard.
