UGREEN 50470 RCA to 3.5mm Female Audio Adapter, 25cm Stereo Cable

Some audio setups need a complete replacement lead, others just need a link between different socket types. The UGREEN 50470 connects two RCA sockets with a 3.5mm audio plug.

Its red and white RCA connectors and female 3.5mm jack make it useful for joining equipment that uses different audio connections. The 25cm cable keeps the adapter itself compact.

Use it with an existing 3.5mm male audio lead to connect compatible devices such as a laptop, mobile phone or tablet with an amplifier, Hi-Fi system, soundbar or car stereo.

Everyday use

Connect the adapter’s two RCA male plugs to the matching red and white sockets on an audio device, then plug your existing 3.5mm male lead into the female jack. This can provide a straightforward link from a source device to an RCA-equipped amplifier or speaker system without changing the audio equipment. It also works in the opposite direction, so you can use it to connect compatible RCA audio equipment to a device with a 3.5mm input.

The 25cm cable is a practical choice when the sockets are close together. For example, it can sit between an existing aux lead and the RCA connections on a home Hi-Fi setup. The adapter is for stereo audio connections, with the red and white plugs matching the usual left and right RCA connections.

Pros

The connector layout is the main advantage: a female 3.5mm jack accepts an existing male aux lead, while the two RCA plugs connect to equipment with red and white audio sockets. That makes it a useful option when you want to bridge those formats rather than replace a working lead with one that has different plugs at both ends.

Gold-plated connectors, bare copper conductors and dual shielding are designed for audio transmission and protection against radio-frequency and electromagnetic interference. A ferrite bead adds further shielding, while the flexible PVC jacket and tangle-free design help with handling and storage. Buyers speak positively about its function and sound quality, feedback on value for money is mixed.

What to know

Check that your setup has two RCA sockets at one end and a 3.5mm male audio plug to connect to the adapter. The 3.5mm socket is female, so it does not plug directly into another female socket. Its bidirectional design supports audio connections in either direction, provided the devices have matching audio connections and are being used as a source and output in the intended way.

The 25cm length suits a short connection between nearby sockets. Solid aluminium RCA connectors are designed for a secure grip when connecting or removing the adapter, and the cable is supplied as a single item.
