SONGMICS Berend Collection OMC013W01 Steel Storage Cabinet, Lockable, Matte White

Two adjustable shelves make it easier to organise a mix of files, tools and household supplies in one cabinet. The SONGMICS Berend Collection OMC013W01 has a lockable steel body in matte white, giving everyday essentials a dedicated place behind two doors.

At 40 x 80 x 90 cm, it offers deep storage for a home office, study, living room, kitchen or garage. Its freestanding design suits spaces where you want enclosed storage without adding open shelving.

Assembly is required, labelled parts and instructions help guide the process. An anti-tip safety set is included for optional wall mounting, and adjustable feet help the cabinet stand steadily while protecting the floor.

Key takeaways

The cabinet is made from powder-coated steel and has two doors, a metal lock and two keys. Inside, two height-adjustable shelves let you organise items by size, from folders and documents to taller household or workshop essentials. Rather than using several open shelves, you can keep selected items together and out of view.

The top surface has a maximum static load capacity of 30 kg, while each adjustable shelf has a maximum static load capacity of 25 kg. These figures are useful when planning where to store heavier items and how to distribute them. The cabinet weighs 22.3 kg and is designed for freestanding installation.

Cleaning & care

The matte-white, powder-coated steel surface can be wiped with a damp cloth, making routine care straightforward. For an organised setup, adjust the shelves to suit the items being stored before filling the cabinet. Place heavier belongings lower down and keep within the stated static load capacities for the top and each shelf.

When assembling the cabinet, follow the supplied instructions and use the included anti-tip set for optional wall mounting. Adjustable feet can help settle the unit in position and protect the floor beneath it.

Everyday use

In a home office, the lockable doors provide a place for files, folders and work materials, while the adjustable shelves help separate paperwork from equipment. In a garage or utility area, the enclosed layout keeps tools and supplies together, at home, it can also store clothes, blankets or kitchen provisions. Buyers speak positively about the ease of assembly and the cabinet’s appearance. Feedback on the locking mechanism is mixed, so treat the lock as a useful feature for keeping contents secured rather than as a substitute for dedicated high-security storage.

Compared with an open rack, this cabinet gives stored items a covered space and lets you arrange the interior around what you need to keep there. Its broad range of suggested rooms makes it a practical choice when one storage unit needs to serve more than one purpose.
