SONGMICS BEREND Collection OFC60BK Mobile File Cabinet, Lockable Steel, 3 Drawers

For a home-office desk covered in paperwork, the SONGMICS BEREND Collection OFC60BK gives files and stationery a dedicated place. Its three drawers are designed for A4, letter and legal-sized documents, with a hanging rail for file folders. Could a mobile cabinet make it easier to keep working documents close without leaving them on the desk? The lock and castors add useful flexibility for everyday use.

Practical tips

At 39 x 52 x 60 cm, this matte black cabinet is intended to sit under most desks, though the fit will depend on your available space. It arrives with four castors, two of which are lockable, these need to be screwed in, so the cabinet can be moved between work areas and held in place when needed. The drawers extend fully, making it easier to reach files towards the back, while a removable organiser keeps smaller stationery items separate.

For a practical setup, keep current paperwork in the hanging-file drawer and use the organiser for items such as pens and clips. The two keys lock all three drawers at once, which is useful for keeping documents out of casual reach in a shared home. Buyers often praise the appearance and straightforward assembly, although opinions about sturdiness are mixed. That feedback is worth bearing in mind if the cabinet will be moved frequently or loaded heavily.

Benefits

This is a more file-focused alternative to relying on a basic desk drawer or open paper trays. It brings hanging folders, loose documents and stationery together, while its steel construction and lockable drawers suit a workspace where tidiness and some controlled access matter. It’s a good fit if you want to organise several document formats in a compact floor-standing unit and move it when your working area changes.

The stated drawer limits give a useful guide when distributing heavier contents: the top two drawers support up to 15 kg each, and the bottom drawer up to 20 kg. These are maximum static loads, not a reason to overfill or climb on the cabinet. For a higher-capacity filing setup or a more demanding office environment, compare its dimensions and drawer limits with larger storage furniture before deciding. Not the best choice if you need storage beyond the listed capacities.

Can it be moved and kept in place? The four swivel castors allow movement, and two have brakes to help keep the cabinet in position.

Final verdict

Choose the OFC60BK if you want a lockable, wheeled cabinet for mixed-format paperwork and stationery in a home office, especially where under-desk storage is useful. Its clear drawer limits and compact listed dimensions help with planning, but the mixed buyer feedback on sturdiness makes it sensible to consider how heavily and how often you expect to move it. For everyday document organisation, it offers more dedicated filing features than a simple drawer unit, for heavier-duty storage, compare the load limits first.
