MidWest Homes for Pets LifeStages XS 22-Inch Folding Dog Crate, Double Door

A fixed indoor crate may suit a space where it will stay put, while a folding design is more useful when storage matters. This MidWest Homes for Pets LifeStages crate is made for indoor use and folds away when it is not needed.

Two doors give you a choice of access points, and a divider panel lets you adjust the interior arrangement. The supplied removable, leak-proof pan is there for the base.

The main buying decision is whether its stated dimensions suit your dog and the spot you have in mind. Customer feedback is generally positive about assembly and sturdiness, though views on the door closure are mixed.

The metal frame and folding format make this a practical choice for a home set-up that may need to be packed away or repositioned. Its two doors offer more than one access point, which can help when choosing where to place it indoors. The dimensions are worth comparing with both the intended location and your dog’s space needs, the product details do not give a recommended dog size.

Getting the most from it

This crate is intended for indoor use, rather than being presented as an outdoor kennel. The divider can change how much of the interior is available, so consider how you plan to arrange the space before setting it up. Its foldable design also makes it an alternative to a crate intended to remain assembled in one place.

Buyers often describe assembly as straightforward and the construction as sturdy, and some say the crate works well for house training. These are individual customer impressions, not a substitute for checking that the dimensions and layout suit your needs. Feedback on the closure is less consistent: some buyers report that the latch can be too easy to open, while others are satisfied with it. If the door fastening is a deciding factor, give that point particular attention.

Usage tips

Measure the space where you intend to place the crate and compare it with the listed dimensions before choosing. Once assembled, position it so that either door can be reached easily. The divider may be useful when you want to alter the available interior space, while the removable pan makes the base easier to take out for cleaning. Follow the supplied assembly instructions and check that the doors close as intended before use.

It’s a good fit if you want a foldable, ventilated metal crate with two doors and an adjustable interior for indoor use. Better avoided if you need buyer feedback to establish consistently secure latch performance, as reports on the closure are mixed.

Questions before you buy

Does it come with a divider and tray? Yes. The listed components include a divider and removable leak-proof pan.

Can the crate be folded? Yes. Foldable is listed as a feature, making it suited to homes where the crate may need to be stored between uses.

Is it intended for outdoor use? The stated specific use is indoors, so the product information does not establish it as an outdoor option.

Should you buy it?

Choose this model if its dimensions work for your dog and indoor space, and you value two access doors, a divider and a folding frame over a crate that stays assembled. The included pan and handle add practical details, while mixed comments about the latch are a reason to look more closely at the closure if dependable fastening is a priority.
