Tips for day-to-day use
The five modes serve different search preferences: All Metal alerts you to any metal, while Disc is intended to distinguish metal types and ignore unwanted finds. Memory mode focuses on a selected metal, Jewelry is aimed at jewellery searches, and PP helps pinpoint a target once detected. That gives you more control than a basic detector with a single search setting, though using those options effectively will depend on learning the controls and choosing the mode that fits the outing.
For a beach walk or a shallow-water search, the waterproof coil is the relevant feature. The listing specifically notes that the controller is not waterproof, so keep the control unit out of the water. The detector is also described as suitable for outdoor gold hunting, but the provided details do not establish guaranteed results or detection performance across different ground conditions. A quarter coin is stated to be detectable up to 12 inches underground, treat that as a listed capability, not a promise for every target or location.
Practical tips
The adjustable length is intended to accommodate different heights, and the padded elbow support and comfort buttons are designed for one-handed use. The backlit display can help with readability in lower light, while the sensitivity and volume settings let you tailor alerts to the setting. The built-in memory function retains settings between starts, according to the product details, which may save repeated setup when returning to a search.
The included headphones, backpack and digger mean the kit covers several practical parts of an outing rather than just the detector itself. Before heading out, consider which mode you want to use and keep the controller dry. The included manual is identified as suitable for beginners, but no further training or operating details are provided here.
When it makes sense
It’s a good fit if you want a detector with multiple search modes, an adjustable shaft and a waterproof coil for walks that may include the beach or shallow water. You may want to skip it if your planned search requires submerging the controller, the stated IP68 rating applies to the coil, not the control unit. Compared with a simpler detector, this one offers more settings and bundled accessories, while someone seeking a more specialized setup may prefer to compare its stated features with the exact conditions and targets they have in mind.
