Veise Door Knob and Deadbolt Set, Satin Nickel

For a front, back, or garage door that needs both a knob lock and a deadbolt, a matched-key set can simplify the daily routine. The Veise set uses one key for both locks, so there’s no need to sort through separate keys at the door.

It comes with three matching keys and a satin nickel finish. The knob works with left- or right-hand doors, which gives you flexibility when replacing a standard residential lockset.

The main trade-off is worth knowing before you buy: the locks cannot be rekeyed. If you expect to change keys later, a rekeyable set would be a better fit.

Fit and sizing

The set is designed for standard US residential doors with a 2-3/8-inch or 2-3/4-inch backset and a door thickness of 1-3/8 to 1-3/4 inches. The listed door opening size is 54 mm. Check those measurements against your existing door before ordering, the reversible design handles left- and right-handed doors, but it doesn’t replace the need for a compatible door preparation.

Installation is described as a screwdriver-only job, with an illustrated step-by-step manual. The maker says installation can take about 15 minutes, though the actual time can depend on the existing hardware and how smoothly it comes apart. One small detail to watch: the product notes that machine screws should be pre-installed in the knob handle before you begin.

Pros

• One key operates both the knob and deadbolt, and three matching keys are included.
• Reversible for left- or right-handed doors.
• The stated fit covers two common backsets and a range of door thicknesses.
• The lock body is described as heavy-duty stainless steel, with ANSI Grade 3 certification.

What’s more useful for everyday entry than carrying one key for both locks? You’ll appreciate it if you want a straightforward replacement for a compatible entry door and value matched-key convenience over the option to rekey later. It may not suit you if you need to change the keying of the locks after installation.

When it makes sense

This set makes sense when you’re replacing a compatible residential knob-and-deadbolt combination and want both locks to share a key. Picture coming home with groceries: one key handles the deadbolt and knob instead of switching between two. For a basic replacement, the reversible handing and included installation instructions may keep the job manageable with a screwdriver.

Choose a different approach if rekeying is important—for example, after a move or when you want new keys to work with existing locks. From the way it is set up, this Veise set prioritizes simple matched-key use, it does not offer rekeying. Its Grade 3 certification is clearly stated, so shoppers seeking a different security grade should compare that specification before choosing.
