HEI LIANG HL-JY8 Fingerprint Door Lock with Keypad, App Control, Matte Silver

Fingerprint entry, keypad access, and app control give the HEI LIANG HL-JY8 several ways to manage access without relying on a traditional key for everyday use. Its matte silver aluminum knob is designed for interior spaces such as bedrooms, offices, apartments, and storage rooms, where convenient entry and privacy matter.

The lock also offers an emergency physical key, app-managed user permissions, unlock records, access modes, and an auto-lock setting. Together, these options make it easier to tailor access to the people and routines in a household or workspace.

Key takeaways

Choose among fingerprint recognition, a passcode, app-based unlocking, and an emergency physical key. The fingerprint reader is specified to respond in 0.3 seconds, while app controls let you review unlock records, manage user permissions, change access modes, and set auto-lock. Bluetooth connects the lock with the app, and a power display with a low-battery reminder helps you keep track of its built-in battery.

The round knob has a polished aluminum finish in matte silver and measures 9 x 3 x 3 inches. Rather than a key-only interior knob, the HL-JY8 combines biometric and passcode access with app controls, so it can suit rooms where access needs to be shared or managed in different ways. Buyer feedback highlights ease of use, installation, fingerprint recognition, and phone-based control. Experiences with battery behavior and overall value are mixed, so those impressions are best treated as individual customer feedback rather than a guarantee.

Usage tips

This lock is designed for doors 30–55mm thick, including wooden doors, fire doors, and security doors. It is described as compatible with most standard US doors. Installation uses a screwdriver: align the inner and outer handles with the “UP” markings, then position the spindle vertically as directed. This alignment helps the two sides fit together correctly during setup.

The built-in battery is non-removable, and the lock should not be used while charging. Use the power display and low-battery reminder as prompts to plan charging. Once installed, set up the access methods and user permissions through the app, then choose whether auto-lock fits the way the room is used.

Who it’s for

The HL-JY8 is suited to people who want keyless access for a bedroom, office, apartment, or storage room, while keeping a physical key available for emergencies. A passcode can provide another way in when fingerprint entry is not convenient, and app controls help manage permissions and review unlock records. It suits you if you want several entry methods and a way to manage access for a shared interior space.

It can also work for a college room or a household seeking more control over who enters a particular room. The auto-lock setting supports routines where the door should lock after entry, while the keypad and fingerprint reader offer alternatives to carrying or handing over a key.

Buying verdict

For an interior door that fits the stated thickness range, the HEI LIANG HL-JY8 brings together four access methods, app-based management, and auto-lock in a matte silver aluminum knob. Its mix of fingerprint, passcode, app, and emergency-key entry makes it a practical choice for bedrooms, offices, and other shared spaces where convenient access and room privacy are the priority.
