Stevie Nicks Stand Back: 1981-2017 Audio CD Compilation

Put on a wide-ranging Stevie Nicks collection for a solo listening session, a road trip, or an evening of familiar favorites. Stand Back: 1981-2017 brings together music from across her solo career. The track selection also reaches beyond studio recordings to collaborations, live performances, and soundtrack contributions.

Who it’s for

This Audio CD is suited to listeners who want a broad introduction to Stevie Nicks as a solo artist, as well as longtime fans looking for more than a familiar-hits playlist. Music from all eight of her studio albums gives the collection its career-spanning scope, with well-known songs such as “Stand Back” and “Talk to Me” alongside “The Dealer” from 2014’s 24 Karat Gold: Songs from the Vault. It’s a great fit if you want landmark solo tracks and a selection of performances and collaborations in one collection, rather than a release focused on a single album or period.

What you’ll notice day to day

The mix of recordings makes it easy to move between different sides of Nicks’ musical career. Collaborations include “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around” with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, “Leather and Lace” with Don Henley, “You’re Not the One” with Sheryl Crow, and “Beautiful People Beautiful Problems” with Lana Del Rey. That variety gives a listening session more range than a collection limited to solo studio singles.

Live tracks add a different setting to the selection. The set includes “Dreams” and “Rhiannon” from the 1981 Bella Donna tour, plus “Sara” and a cover of Dave Matthews Band’s “Crash Into Me” from The Soundstage Sessions. Soundtrack songs add another thread, including “Blue Lamp” from Heavy Metal and “If You Ever Did Believe” from Practical Magic. Buyers also highlight the breadth of the track selection and the inclusion of live material, making this collection appealing when you want studio favorites, collaborations, and less familiar career selections together.
