Snowkids F5486B86B-20 Cat 8 Ethernet Cable, 20 ft, Flat Braided, 40 Gbps

The flat, braided design of the Snowkids Cat 8 Ethernet cable makes it easier to route around corners and along floors, while helping keep a network connection organized. Its 20-foot length suits setups where a router, modem, PC, or gaming system needs a wired connection across a room or between nearby spaces.

With Cat 8 bandwidth rated at 2,000 MHz and data transfer rates up to 40 Gbps, this cable is built for high-speed network communication. It also works with earlier Ethernet cable categories, so it can fit into a range of existing RJ45 setups.

Key specifications

• Type: Cat 8 Ethernet cable
• Length: 20 ft
• Data transfer rate: Up to 40 Gbps
• Frequency: 2,000 MHz
• Connectors: Male-to-male RJ45, 8 pins
• Construction: Flat, braided, shielded S/FTP cable with four foil-shielded twisted pairs
• Color: Gray
• Use: Indoor and outdoor network connections

The S/FTP construction is designed to help protect the signal from crosstalk, noise, and interference. Gold-plated RJ45 connectors provide the connection points at each end. The braided nylon exterior adds a flexible covering, and the cable has undergone more than 15,000 bending tests, according to the product details.

Requirements

Connect the cable between devices with RJ45 Ethernet ports, such as a router, modem, PC, server, or compatible gaming console. The male-to-male connectors make it suitable for a direct wired link between network devices. Cat 8 is backward compatible with Cat 7, Cat 6e, Cat 6, Cat 5e, and Cat 5, so it can also be used with equipment operating in those cable categories.

The cable’s rated capacity describes the cable itself, the speed of a complete network connection also depends on the connected devices and service. For a straightforward setup, connect one end to the network source and the other to the device you want to wire.

Practical tips

Plan the 20-foot route before connecting both ends. The flat profile can help guide the cable around corners and through tighter paths, while the braided covering supports a more durable, flexible installation. It can be routed along floors or around room edges, including carpeted areas, where a bulky cable may be harder to position neatly. Keep the path clear of sharp bends and arrange any extra length so it does not become a trip hazard.

For a desk setup, route it from the router or modem to a PC or gaming system to establish a wired network connection. It can also connect compatible network equipment such as a server or printer. Compared with selecting a conventional round cable for a simple open run, this flat braided format is useful when the route needs to sit closer to surfaces or pass around corners.

Buyers often mention the cable’s connection performance, durability, and length, including its use for gaming and office setups. These are individual experiences, but they reflect the practical appeal of a long, flexible cable for wired network layouts.

When it makes sense

Choose this cable when you need a 20-foot RJ45 connection and want Cat 8 specifications in a flat, braided format. Its combination of backward compatibility, shielding, and flexible routing suits home or office network arrangements that link a router or modem to a PC, console, or other compatible equipment.
