Ruko 8809 RC T-Rex Dinosaur Toy, Programmable, Rechargeable, Green

At 22.28 inches long, the Ruko 8809 brings a sizable T-Rex into play with remote-controlled movement, sound, and light-up LED eyes. Its green dinosaur design pairs familiar prehistoric character play with interactive features kids can control and explore.

It can walk, roar, dance, respond to a touch on the head, and launch soft foam darts. Programmable actions add another way to shape each play session.

Pros

Unlike a static dinosaur figure, this RC T-Rex combines movement and sound with hands-on controls. Kids can drive it with the remote, or use touch interaction to trigger head and tail movement and a roar. LED eyes add a visible cue to its animated play, while songs and dancing give children another activity to try between dinosaur adventures.

The programmable mode lets kids create sequences of up to 50 actions, including walking, turning, roaring, and shooting. Building a sequence brings simple planning and cause-and-effect into play, with room to make different routines. Soft foam darts add an action element, and the dinosaur’s movements and sounds can help inspire imaginative stories or shared play. Buyers often highlight its play value, interactive features, and gift appeal. Feedback on dart shooting is mixed, so that feature is best treated as one part of the toy’s broader play options.

What to know

The 8809 is a floor-play toy operated by remote control, with additional touch interaction. Its rechargeable design uses a lithium-ion battery, and the listed package includes the RC dinosaur, remote control, charging cable, user manual, and 10 foam darts. The 22.28 x 7.95 x 12.32-inch dimensions make it a substantial toy for children who want a dinosaur they can see move around during play.

For a playdate, kids can take turns guiding the T-Rex, building programmed action sequences, or making up stories around its roars and movements. The foam-dart function can add a target-style activity, keep play focused on appropriate targets and follow the included instructions. For families choosing between a display-style dinosaur and an interactive toy, the remote, touch response, and programmable actions make this model the more hands-on choice.

Getting the most from it

Start with the remote controls to explore the dinosaur’s movement and sounds, then try touch interaction and programmed sequences as kids become familiar with its features. Switching between walking, turning, music, and roars gives play a natural change of pace without relying on dart shooting alone. Keep the charging cable and foam darts together with the toy so the accessories are easy to find when it’s time to play.

Final verdict

The Ruko 8809 is a strong fit for kids drawn to dinosaurs who want more than a figure to pose: it combines a large T-Rex design with remote control, touch-triggered reactions, music, LED eyes, and customizable action sequences. Those varied ways to interact make it especially suited to imaginative floor play and gift-giving, with foam-dart action as an extra feature rather than the toy’s only appeal.
