Retevis RT628 Kids Walkie Talkies, 4-Pack, 22 Channels, VOX, Camo

Usage tips

For families who want kids to stay in touch during outdoor activities, the Retevis RT628 four-pack gives each person a handheld radio for quick, direct conversations. Use the push-to-talk button to speak, or switch on VOX for hands-free transmission while walking, hiking, or playing. The camouflage finish suits outdoor adventures, and the belt clips make it easy to carry a radio on clothing or a backpack.

Choose a channel and set the volume before heading out. The keypad lock helps prevent accidental channel changes once the radios are set up, while call tones can alert others when you want their attention. The stated range is up to 1,000 meters in open areas, terrain and obstacles can affect communication distance.

Why it makes sense

Four radios make it easier for a family or small group to keep in touch without coordinating around a phone or waiting to place a call. That direct, button-operated format works well for campsite activities, hikes, picnics, and backyard games where kids may be exploring nearby. With 22 selectable channels and CTCSS/DCS tones, the set offers options for organizing communication and reducing unwanted chatter from other users on a channel.

A large LCD shows the channel and battery status, so key information is visible while the radio is in use. Adjustable volume and clear, simple controls help make the set approachable for children. Buyers often highlight ease of use, sound clarity, and range for outdoor play. Feedback on durability and battery life is mixed, so those impressions are best treated as individual experiences rather than guaranteed outcomes.
