PUREPLUS RWF4200A Refrigerator Water Filter, 4-Pack, Coconut Shell Carbon

For Samsung refrigerator owners who need a replacement filter for a DA97-17376B (HAF-QIN) housing, the PUREPLUS RWF4200A comes in a four-pack. Its layered filtration is designed to reduce chlorine and odor while retaining beneficial minerals. Choose a replacement that matches your filter housing, rather than one selected only by refrigerator brand. This model is intended for the DA97-17376B housing, not the DA29-00020B (HAF-CIN) housing.

Pros

The coconut shell carbon and polypropylene filter uses multiple filtration layers, including a 0.5-micron inner layer. PUREPLUS states that the filter reduces chlorine and odor and helps improve water taste, it also retains beneficial minerals. That combination is useful for households looking to address chlorine-related taste and odor without removing those minerals.

The filter is certified by IAPMO to NSF/ANSI 42 and 372 for lead-free requirements, according to the product information. It is also listed as REACH-compliant, BPA-free, and certified to Canadian CSA and Australian Water Mark standards. A four-pack provides replacement filters for successive changes, so there is more than one on hand when a replacement is needed.

What matters most

Compatibility is the key buying detail. The RWF4200A is designed for the DA97-17376B / HAF-QIN filter housing. Listed compatible refrigerator examples include the Samsung RF28R7351SG, RF28R7201SR, RF28T5001SR, RF23M8590SG, RS27T5200SR, and RF24R7201SR. Match the refrigerator’s filter housing or existing filter reference before choosing: a filter for a different housing, such as DA29-00020B / HAF-CIN, is not the intended fit.

For everyday use, the chlorine and odor reduction focus makes this a practical replacement for households that want filtered water from a compatible refrigerator dispenser. The layered design addresses different filtration needs, while mineral retention is a useful distinction for shoppers comparing it with filters that do not state this benefit. The four-filter format also suits homes that prefer to keep replacement filters available rather than purchase one at a time.

Getting the most from it

Use the filter only with the specified DA97-17376B / HAF-QIN housing. Check that reference against the existing filter or refrigerator’s filter information before installation, model numbers are useful examples, but the housing reference is the most direct fit check. Once matched, the filter serves as a replacement for the refrigerator’s built-in water filtration system, supporting convenient access to filtered water at home.

The filter is made with coconut shell carbon and polypropylene. Its listed dimensions are 2.3 inches deep by 7.7 inches wide by 2.3 inches high, details that can help identify the replacement when comparing filter options. PUREPLUS also reports production under ISO 9001 quality controls and testing that includes pressure and water-hammer tests.

Final verdict

The PUREPLUS RWF4200A is a focused choice for households with a DA97-17376B / HAF-QIN refrigerator filter housing that want chlorine and odor reduction, mineral retention, and several replacement filters in one pack. Its clearly defined housing compatibility and layered carbon filtration make it useful for maintaining filtered refrigerator water with the correct replacement.
