Oroonoko OR004-05L Cat Sofa Scratch Protector, Natural Sisal, Dark Gray

Give your cat a designated place to scratch while shielding a compatible sofa arm from claw marks. The Oroonoko OR004-05L is a furniture-mounted scratching mat made with natural sisal and linen. Its dark gray color blends into many living spaces. The left-hand version is intended for the sofa side on your left when you are seated.

Tech summary

• Type: Cat furniture scratch protector
• Materials: Linen and natural sisal
• Dimensions: 23.6" L x 19.7" W x 0.2" H
• Color: Dark gray
• Mounting: Sofa mount, secured with leg ties
• Included: Scratch pad and instructions manual
• Care: Keep in a dry place

The sisal surface gives cats a dedicated scratching area, while the mat covers part of the furniture. Linen and sisal create a fabric-based alternative to a standalone scratch pad, with a design intended to sit on a sofa rather than take up floor space. Its broad coverage can also suit a chair or another piece of furniture with a compatible side.

What it works with

This protector is designed for select sofa shapes. For a secure fit, the sofa needs leg ties, an armrest no more than 12 inches thick, and a side area of at least 23.6" L x 19.7" W. It is intended for flat, square arms, wing-arm sofas, extra-thick arms, and wooden arms are not compatible. The left-hand designation is based on the view from the seat: place it on the left side while sitting on the couch.

These shape and size details make it easier to assess fit before choosing a sofa-mounted protector over a freestanding scratching pad. The product is listed for indoor use and all breed sizes, with cats identified as the target species.

How to use it

Position the mat over the compatible sofa arm and secure it with the leg ties, following the included instructions. Align the sisal area where your cat can reach it for scratching, while the fabric covers the furniture surface beneath. Its 0.2-inch profile keeps the protector close to the sofa, and the dark gray finish offers a subdued look alongside the upholstery. Keep the mat in a dry place as part of routine care.

Buyers commonly praise its furniture-protection function, scratch resistance, appearance, and straightforward installation. Feedback on fit is mixed, and some report that the mat can shift, making the stated arm shape and tie placement important considerations when setting it up.

Should you buy it?

The Oroonoko OR004-05L makes sense for cat owners who want a dedicated scratching surface attached to a sofa instead of a separate floor-standing pad. Natural sisal provides the scratchable area, while the linen-and-sisal mat covers the furniture side. If your sofa meets the listed shape and size requirements, the left-hand version offers a practical way to keep a scratch zone close to the couch and integrate it into the room.
