Nosferatu 191329273470 Extended Cut Blu-ray + Digital

For viewers drawn to horror through gothic atmosphere and visual storytelling, Nosferatu offers a feature-length take on the vampire tale. This Extended Cut follows a haunted young woman and the terrifying vampire obsessed with her, with a cast that includes Bill Skarsgård, Nicholas Hoult, Lily-Rose Depp, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Emma Corrin, and Willem Dafoe.

The Blu-ray edition pairs the film with a digital copy and a selection of bonus features, giving fans more ways to revisit Robert Eggers’ interpretation and explore its production.

Getting the most from it

At 2 hours and 16 minutes, this is a full-length movie for a dedicated evening watch. Its gothic premise and horror, mystery, and suspense elements suit viewers looking for a dark, atmospheric story rather than a brief scare-focused feature. English audio is available in Dolby Atmos, with French Dolby Digital 7.1 and Spanish Dolby Digital 6.1 EX options, French and Spanish subtitles are also listed. Choose the audio and subtitle settings that suit your viewing setup and preferences.

The digital copy adds another format for watching. Its availability is subject to expiration, and NBCUCodes.com provides the details. The disc also includes deleted scenes, “Nosferatu: A Modern Masterpiece,” and feature commentary with writer-director Robert Eggers. That combination makes this release relevant to both a first viewing and a return visit focused on the film’s additional material.

Strengths

The appeal is more than the familiar vampire premise: the story centers on obsession and the horror it brings in its wake. The ensemble cast gives the film a broad dramatic focus, while Eggers’ commentary offers a direct way to hear from the writer-director. Deleted scenes and the included featurette provide further material for viewers interested in the film beyond its main runtime.

Buyer reactions often praise the cinematography and visual presentation, and some describe the film’s haunting mood and performances as highlights. Responses to the story, acting, and level of scariness are mixed, so the film’s atmospheric approach is likely to matter most to viewers choosing it for its gothic tone. This is a useful distinction when choosing between horror centered on mood and one selected primarily for fast-paced scares.

Worth noting

This is a Blu-ray release, not a 4K UHD edition. The listed audio formats include English Dolby Atmos, French Dolby Digital 7.1, and Spanish Dolby Digital 6.1 EX, while the subtitle options are French and Spanish. Bonus content consists of deleted scenes, “Nosferatu: A Modern Masterpiece,” and Robert Eggers’ feature commentary. The digital copy is subject to expiration, so its redemption details are relevant if you plan to use that format.
