Logitech R800 Wireless Presenter with Green Laser, LCD Timer and 100-Foot Range

Moving through a slideshow in a bright conference room is easier when you can point out details and advance slides without staying beside your computer. The Logitech R800 combines a green laser pointer with intuitive presentation controls. Choose it for the freedom to move around the room, a basic clicker may suit a setup where you plan to stay at the podium.

Key takeaways

The green laser is designed to remain easy to see on LCD and plasma displays, as well as in brightly lit rooms, making it useful when you need to direct attention to a specific part of a slide. An LCD display with a timer and silent, vibrating alerts helps you keep track of your presentation while keeping your attention on the audience. The R800 has a wireless range of up to 100 feet (30 meters), and a reception-level indicator shows the signal level as you move around.

Its slideshow controls are designed to be easy to find by touch, so you can navigate without taking your eyes off the audience. To get started, plug the wireless receiver into a USB port, no software installation is needed. The receiver stores inside the presenter when you’re finished, which makes it easier to pack the device away between presentations.

How to use it

Plug the storable receiver into a USB port to begin, then use the presenter’s controls to move through your slides. Set and adjust the timer using the controls on the device. During the presentation, use the green laser to highlight slide details and check the reception-level indicator if you move farther from the receiver. Silent, vibrating alerts provide a way to follow the timer without relying on an audible notification. Afterward, store the receiver inside the presenter for a more compact pack-up.

Best use cases

The R800 suits presentations where the speaker wants to move around rather than remain next to a laptop. In a meeting room, you can advance the slideshow while addressing people across the room, then use the laser to draw attention to a chart or other on-screen detail. Its stated range of up to 100 feet (30 meters) supports movement across larger presentation spaces, while the reception indicator helps you keep track of the wireless signal.

It is also a practical fit for talks with a set time allowance. The LCD timer and silent, vibrating alerts keep time visible on the presenter, so you can stay focused on the slides and audience. For a straightforward setup, the plug-and-play receiver connects through a USB port and needs no software installation. The controls, laser pointer, and timer bring common presentation tasks together in one handheld device.
