KingKJ TN229XL Toner Cartridge Set, 4-Pack for Brother Color Laser Printers

This four-pack includes one black TN229XL toner cartridge and one each in cyan, magenta, and yellow. It’s a compatible replacement set for select Brother color laser printers.

Each cartridge has a built-in chip, and the listed page yields are up to 3,000 pages for black and 2,300 pages for each color cartridge. Those figures are based on Letter/A4 pages at 5% coverage.

The set is made for routine printing of documents, reports, letters, graphics, and photos. Which printer models does it fit? The compatibility list below is the key check before choosing it.

Worth noting

The yield figures are estimates tied to the stated 5% page coverage, not a guaranteed count for every print job. Pages with more coverage may use toner differently, so actual results can vary with what you print. This is a third-party compatible product, it is not made or sold by Brother.

The cartridges are listed for Brother HL-L3220CDW, HL-L3280CDW, HL-L3295CDW, HL-L3300CDW, HL-L8245CDW, MFC-L3720CDW, MFC-L3765CDW, MFC-L3780CDW, and MFC-L8395CDW printers. The cartridge description also names L8245CDW, which appears to refer to the HL-L8245CDW model in the compatibility list. Match the full printer model shown on your device with the models listed for this set before ordering, sharing the TN229 or TN229XL cartridge family name alone does not establish compatibility with every printer.

How to use it

Replace the corresponding toner cartridge in a compatible printer with the matching color from the set. The package contains one black, one cyan, one magenta, and one yellow cartridge, so it provides a full set of the four listed toner colors rather than several black cartridges. The built-in chip is intended to let the printer identify the cartridge, although compatibility still depends on using a listed printer model.

Getting the most from it

This combination set makes sense for a printer that needs all four toner colors, or for keeping the color cartridges together as replacements. If only one color needs replacing, a single-color cartridge is a different buying approach and may better match that immediate need. For ongoing document and color printing, the stated yields can help estimate how often replacements might be needed, but coverage and print mix matter.

The seller lists a two-year warranty, 24-hour customer service, and replacement service for defective products. These are seller-provided terms, check the terms that apply to your purchase if warranty support is an important part of your decision.

When it makes sense

It makes sense if you have one of the listed Brother printers and want a compatible four-color set with separate stated yields for black and color. It may not suit you if your printer model is not on the compatibility list, or if you need only one replacement color rather than a complete set. For a typical mix of black text and color graphics, this bundle offers the relevant cartridges together, choosing a toner set by exact printer model remains the deciding factor.
