JOEJOY XL Orthopedic Dog Bed, 42-Inch Oval Bolster, Memory Foam

At 42 inches long, the JOEJOY XL dog bed gives large dogs a roomy place to curl up or stretch out. Its oval shape, plush fish-scale sleeping surface, and full-surround bolster create a cushioned, nest-like resting spot, while the memory foam and egg-crate foam provide an orthopedic-style base for everyday lounging.

A waterproof inner liner helps protect the foam from spills and moisture. The removable cover is machine washable, so routine care is straightforward: take out the foam insert before washing the cover.

Technical overview

• Size: 42 x 32 x 7.5 inches
• Shape: Oval with a 360° bolster
• Fill: Memory foam and 3.5-inch high-density egg-crate foam
• Materials: Polyester cover, plush fish-scale sleeping surface and textured exterior
• Color: Light gray
• Care: Removable, machine-washable cover, remove foam before washing
• Base: Non-slip bottom
• Recommended dog size: Large, up to 75 lbs

The raised sides provide a place to rest the head and neck, while the open center leaves room to settle into a preferred sleeping position. The waterproof liner separates the foam from everyday moisture, and the non-slip base helps keep the bed in place on smooth floors such as hardwood or tile. After unpacking, allow up to 6 hours for the vacuum-packed bed to expand.

Getting the most from it

The surrounding bolster makes this a different choice from a flat dog mattress: it gives dogs that like to curl up, lean against a soft edge, or rest their head a defined place to settle. Does that enclosed feel suit your dog’s usual sleeping position? The generous center also leaves room to relax without having to lie against the sides.

For care, unzip and remove the cover, take out the foam insert, then machine wash the cover. Keep the foam out of the washer. This routine helps make the bed practical for regular use in a living room, bedroom, or another familiar resting area.

Who it’s for

This bed is designed for large dogs up to 75 lbs, including senior dogs and pets that benefit from a cushioned place to rest. The soft sleeping surface and full bolster suit dogs that curl up or like a supportive edge nearby, the open center works for settling into a more relaxed position. It suits you if you want a larger, enclosed bed with a removable cover rather than a simple flat mat.

Buyers commonly praise its soft feel, spacious sleeping area, and washability, and some describe it as comfortable for older dogs. Feedback on thickness is mixed, and some buyers report concerns about zipper and fabric durability. These impressions can help set expectations while the bed’s documented features—foam filling, waterproof liner, washable cover, and non-slip base—remain practical considerations for choosing a daily resting spot.

Is it worth it?

The JOEJOY XL brings together a roomy oval sleeping area, egg-crate and memory foam cushioning, and a 360° bolster in one bed for large dogs. Its removable washable cover and waterproof inner liner add useful everyday-care features, while the non-slip bottom is suited to smooth floors. For a dog that likes a soft, surrounded place to nap, curl up, or rest its head, this bed offers a clear alternative to a flat mat with a more defined, cushioned space.
