Tips for day-to-day use
Plan routes in Garmin Explore on a compatible smartphone, then sync waypoints and courses to the device before heading out. This makes route information available on your handheld communicator during the trip. Pairing with compatible Garmin wearables and handhelds also lets you send and receive messages or trigger an SOS from those devices, satellite features require an active subscription.
When your route calls for returning along your outbound path, TracBack provides a direct way to navigate back toward the starting point. The digital compass is useful for checking your heading while stationary, and location sharing can keep loved ones informed as your plans unfold. For longer outings, the stated battery life is up to 14 days when tracking at 10-minute intervals.
