AUTO-VOX Solar Wireless Backup Camera 5000 mAh
Product description
This compact solar wireless backup camera from AUTO-VOX combines an easy DIY installation and continuous standby power to help when reversing or hitching trailers. It is built around a 5" HD 1080p monitor and a solar-charged camera with a 5000 mAh battery, making it useful for cars, vans, trucks, trailers and boats where a wired install is impractical.
Key Points
Installation takes about three minutes using a single screwdriver, with no drilling and no need to tap into vehicle lights. The camera mounts to the license plate area and includes an anti-theft screw so it stays secure during daily use. The monitor displays color images both day and night and connects wirelessly, removing the hassle of long cable runs.
Signal uses digital 2.4 GHz transmission and provides a stable connection up to approximately 12.2 meters, according to the manufacturer. Adjustable parking guides let you shift the overlay left, right, up or down, or turn them off if preferred. The camera body is small for flexible mounting above or below the plate and to avoid interfering with handles or lights.

Usage Recommendations
Use the solar panel to extend battery life when the vehicle is parked outdoors, and rely on USB charging during periods of low sunlight. Set the monitor sleep timer to one of the four options (45S, 60S, 90S, 120S) to conserve energy when the system is activated intermittently. The anti-theft screw secures the camera for everyday driving, but it can be unscrewed quickly for removal when needed.
Advantages
The kit avoids complex wiring and keeps the vehicle exterior tidy. The combination of a high-capacity internal battery and solar top-up provides longer standby compared with small battery-only cameras. Night and daytime image quality is focused on clarity rather than aggressive processing, which helps reduce washed-out colors under varied lighting. Note that performance in very low light depends on ambient conditions, and USB charging is available if solar exposure is limited during winter months.
