Amazon Basics 355558 Large Cat Litter Box, High Sides, Open Top, Scoop Storage

Some cat owners want an open box that makes everyday checking and scooping straightforward, others prioritize keeping scattered litter contained. The amazon Basics 355558 combines an uncovered design with high sides and a lowered front entry, bringing both needs into one large litter pan.

Its 19 x 15 x 11.75-inch footprint gives you clear dimensions to plan around, while the included scoop stores on the box for easy access.

What you’ll notice day to day

The open top makes it easy to see inside and reach the litter when it’s time to scoop. High sides help keep litter inside the pan, a useful detail for cats that dig enthusiastically. At the front, a lowered entry gives cats a simpler way in and out, including older cats and kittens. The box is made from BPA-free, recyclable plastic, and its gray-and-beige color keeps the look neutral in a laundry room, bathroom, or other indoor setup.

Compared with a covered litter setup, this open design puts monitoring and access front and center. Would that make routine checks more convenient in your home? The included scoop is designed to hang from or fit into the tall edge, so it has a dedicated place beside the box instead of needing to be stored separately. Buyers also appreciate the high sides for containing litter and report using the box in cat-tree cabinets. Feedback on size, cleaning, and sturdiness varies, the listed measurements can help you judge how the pan fits your space and your cat.

Worth noting

This is a large, open-top pan rather than an enclosed box, with a lowered front and taller sides around the rest of the litter area. Those features serve different practical purposes: the entry supports easier access, while the higher walls help contain kicked litter. Its dimensions are 19 inches long, 15 inches wide, and 11.75 inches high. The scoop is included and stores on board, keeping the basic scooping tool within reach.

Practical tips

Use the stated dimensions when choosing a spot, especially if you plan to place the box inside a cat-tree cabinet or another defined area. Keep the lowered entrance oriented toward the approach you want your cat to use, and store the scoop on the tall edge after scooping. The uncovered layout also makes it simple to check the litter at a glance and reach across the pan.
