AKUMAX Acoustic Wall Panels, 12-Pack Black Peel-and-Stick PET Felt Tiles

Dense PET felt helps absorb reflected sound, giving home offices, studios, and media rooms a more controlled listening environment. The AKUMAX 12-pack pairs a textured geometric surface with peel-and-stick installation, so you can add acoustic treatment and a decorative wall accent in the same project.

Each black square panel measures 11.8 x 11.8 x 0.4 inches and covers 1 sq ft. Together, the set provides 12 sq ft of nominal coverage for a focused treatment area.

Strengths

These panels are designed to reduce echo and control reverberation by absorbing sound reflections inside a room. That can make speech, music, and other audio more comfortable to listen to in spaces with hard, reflective surfaces. They improve room acoustics rather than block sound traveling through walls, making them suited to tuning the sound within a space instead of soundproofing it from outside noise.

The lightweight polyester PET felt has a textured geometric finish, so the panels serve as wall decor as well as acoustic treatment. Use the black tiles to create a consistent accent, or combine compatible colors and patterns for a custom layout. Their square, modular format makes it easier to arrange coverage around a desk, bed, entertainment area, or recording setup.

For a practical placement plan, position panels near first-reflection points and other hard surfaces that send sound back into the room. In a home office, that may mean treating the wall around a desk, in a podcast or recording space, it may mean adding coverage near the listening or microphone area. The panels can also soften reflections in a gaming room, bedroom, home theater, or living space.

The essentials

The set includes 12 panels, each 11.8 x 11.8 inches and 0.4 inches thick, with 12 sq ft of nominal coverage in total. The black PET felt construction gives the layout a defined visual presence while keeping the treatment modular. Plan the arrangement before installation to direct coverage toward the areas where reflected sound is most noticeable.

Installation uses the peel-and-stick backing: clean and dry the surface, remove the backing liner, then press each panel firmly into place. This tool-light approach works well for a DIY wall treatment project. Check compatibility with the paint and wall surface before applying, as removal may affect delicate finishes.

The manufacturer also describes the panels as tested by SGS for ultra-low formaldehyde emissions and independently tested to Class B-s2,d0 fire performance. These details may be useful when comparing decorative acoustic treatments for an indoor room.

Who it’s for

Choose this 12-pack when you want to treat a defined wall area rather than cover an entire room. Its 12 sq ft coverage suits a focused setup around a workstation, bed, gaming area, or media zone. For a room where sound transmission through the wall is the main concern, sound-absorbing panels are a different approach: these tiles are intended to manage reflections within the room.

The self-adhesive format is especially convenient for people who want a straightforward installation without a tool-heavy mounting process. The geometric felt finish also makes sense when the treatment needs to contribute to the room’s appearance, not just its acoustics.

Final verdict

AKUMAX’s black PET felt panels combine a clear practical purpose with a decorative, modular format. The 12-panel set offers a defined 12 sq ft area for reducing echo in a home office, bedroom, studio, or entertainment space, while peel-and-stick backing keeps installation direct. It’s a useful choice for shaping the sound and look of a specific room zone.
