BUBOS Acoustic Wall Panels 23.6 x 23.6 Inches

Highlights

When a room sounds echoey during calls, gaming, or movie playback, adding absorption to the walls can help tame reflections. These BUBOS panels are designed for that kind of acoustic treatment, rather than to make a room soundproof.

The two-pack includes panels measuring 23.6 x 23.6 inches, each 2 inches thick. Their grooved, slat-style finish is intended to look more like wall decor than plain foam, and the beige color gives the panels a relatively understated presence.

BUBOS lists an NRC of 0.9 and a stated frequency range of 150–20,000 Hz. Those are manufacturer-provided figures, not a promise that every room will sound the same. The panels are made from high-density polyester fiber, the listing also describes them as formaldehyde-free, odorless, UL certified, and B1 flame retardant.

How to use it

The panels are presented for studios, offices, home theaters, gaming rooms, gyms, and meeting spaces. Their purpose is to absorb some sound energy and reduce reflections within a room. That can make speech or playback feel less harsh in a space with noticeable echo, but it is different from blocking sound from passing through a wall. If your main problem is noise coming in from another room or outside, these panels alone may not address it.

BUBOS describes two mounting approaches: hidden brackets for a flush wall installation, or wire suspension from a ceiling. The listing does not make clear whether the mounting hardware is included, so factor that into your setup plans. Keep in mind that the two panels cover a limited area compared with treating an entire room. Since the room's wall area is not given, you cannot estimate coverage without that measurement.

Practical tips

Before choosing a placement, listen for where reflections are most noticeable: for example, at a desk where your voice sounds sharp on a video call, or near a home theater listening position where dialogue seems to bounce around. Plan the layout around those problem areas instead of assuming that a pair will treat every surface. The square format and 2-inch thickness also mean they will be visible and stand out from a flat wall.

A solid pick if you want decorative panels for targeted echo reduction and can use either the wall or ceiling mounting approach. Not the best choice if you need sound isolation, broad room coverage from a small purchase, or detailed installation instructions before deciding. Compared with basic acoustic foam, these panels offer a thicker profile and a finished slat-style look, a buyer focused only on covering the largest possible area may prefer a simpler, less decorative treatment.

Practical doubts

Do these panels soundproof a room? The product name uses “soundproof,” but the described function is sound absorption and noise reduction. The listing does not establish that they block sound from traveling through walls.

Can they be mounted on a ceiling? The product description says they can be suspended with wire. It does not specify whether wire or other mounting parts come in the package.

What comes in the pack? The listing identifies a two-pack of panels, each measuring 23.6 x 23.6 inches and 2 inches thick. It does not give a total room-coverage figure.

Buying verdict

Choose these if the grooved beige finish suits your room and you want a pair of substantial polyester-fiber panels for focused echo control, with a choice of wall or ceiling placement. Skip them if your goal is to stop sound transmission or treat a large room without planning additional coverage. The deciding question is whether you need a visible absorber in specific spots or a more comprehensive sound-isolation solution.
