SONGMICS DAMION Collection LPC009W01 Small Animal Playpen with Removable Oxford Mat
Product description
At 125 x 63 x 42 cm, the SONGMICS DAMION LPC009W01 is a rectangular playpen for small animals. Its modular plastic panels can be arranged in an L shape or on two levels. A removable, waterproof Oxford fabric mat sits beneath a PP base panel. Assembly is required.
How it fits
The enclosure is intended for small pets such as guinea pigs, hamsters, hedgehogs and rabbits. Its translucent panels make it possible to see the animal inside, while the floor combines a PP panel with the removable mat to help protect the surface underneath from mess. The mat measures 124 x 65 cm, so it is slightly larger than the stated enclosure footprint.
The modular layout gives you more flexibility than a fixed-shape pen: you can choose an L-shaped arrangement or build upwards on two levels, using the supplied fittings. That makes it worth considering if you want to adapt the enclosure to the space available. It still depends on careful assembly, the panel corners need to be fully inserted into the connectors, and the instructions advise using cable ties to join panels side by side.
Why it makes sense
The removable, waterproof mat is a practical feature for a small-animal area, as it can be taken out for cleaning rather than leaving the floor covering in place. The plastic panels and fittings are also designed to come apart, which may be useful if you need to move or reorganise the pen. The box includes a mallet for assembly, along with cable ties and the other parts needed to build the enclosure.
Buyer feedback highlights straightforward assembly and positive impressions of the build, with some comments describing it as suitable for small animals and useful for keeping them contained. These are customer impressions rather than a guarantee that every pet will remain safely inside, so the finished setup and the animal’s behaviour still matter.
It suits you if you want a configurable indoor enclosure with a removable mat and are happy to assemble it. The maker says it is designed for small pets, not dogs or cats, and advises against prolonged outdoor use. The guidance also says to position the marked sides of the panels downwards or outwards to discourage chewing.

Practical questions
Does it arrive ready to use? No. Assembly is required, the panels connect with the supplied fittings, and a mallet is included.
Can the layout be changed? Yes. The parts can be arranged in an L shape or on two levels, following the assembly guidance.
Can it stay outside? The manufacturer advises not to use it outdoors for a long time, so it is better suited to indoor use.
When it makes sense
Choose this playpen if its modular shape and removable floor covering fit your setup better than a fixed-format enclosure. It might not be a great match if you need a pen for a dog or cat, or one intended for extended outdoor use.
