RugVista Checkmate Doormat, 60 x 90 cm, Yellow/White, Cotton and Wool

For a hallway that needs a clearly defined indoor doormat, the RugVista Checkmate brings a yellow-and-white check pattern to a practical rectangular format. Its 60 x 90 cm size gives the entrance a distinct visual accent, while the medium pile and cotton-and-wool construction add texture underfoot.

Handmade with a tufted construction, it pairs a modern pattern with a compact footprint for everyday home interiors.

Getting the most from it

Use the Checkmate to mark out the entrance area of a hallway, or to add a patterned accent where a larger room rug would take up more space. The yellow and white checks give the floor a visible point of interest, while the rectangular shape sits naturally along a hallway or beside an entrance. Its indoor-use design makes it suited to these home settings.

The medium pile gives the mat a fuller profile than a flatweave option, making it a useful choice when texture is part of the look you want. At 15 millimetres thick, it has a defined presence on the floor. For care, the stated instruction is dry clean only, this is worth factoring into your routine when choosing a mat for a frequently used area.

Why it makes sense

This design brings together a recognisable check pattern and a size suited to defining one part of a room, rather than covering a broad floor area. That makes it a considered alternative to choosing a larger rug for the whole hallway: the Checkmate can create a focused entrance detail while keeping the surrounding floor visible. The cotton-and-wool materials and handmade tufted construction give the pattern a textured finish, and its medium pile adds depth to the look.

RugVista also identifies the rug as handmade in India and describes its CARE & FAIR membership as supporting education and health programmes for weavers and their families. The Oeko-Tex 100 detail adds another useful point to consider when selecting a textile for the home.

Buying verdict

Choose the RugVista Checkmate when you want a compact indoor mat that does more than mark the entrance: its yellow-and-white checks bring a distinctive modern accent, while the 60 x 90 cm rectangular format suits a defined hallway space. The handmade, tufted construction, cotton and wool materials, and medium pile make it a textured choice for adding character to an everyday part of the home.
