Lisciani Giochi The Little Mermaid Double-Sided Puzzle and Colouring Picture

Made from cardboard, the Lisciani Giochi The Little Mermaid puzzle combines a jigsaw activity with a colouring picture on the reverse. The product description presents it as a 60-piece scene measuring 50 x 35 cm, giving children a picture to assemble before they turn it over and colour the other side. It is a screen-free activity built around one familiar cartoon character, rather than a set of separate games.

The two-sided format gives the activity a natural next step: once the puzzle is complete, the picture on the back offers another way to engage with it. The listing also says it is intended to support concentration, observation, fine motor skills and creativity.

How to use it

Assemble the pieces to make the illustrated scene, then turn the completed puzzle over to colour the reverse. That makes it suitable for a table or floor activity where a child can work through the picture at their own pace. It can also be shared with an adult, who can help with sorting pieces or talk through the details in the scene without taking over the activity.

The colouring side adds variety, but it is still one puzzle rather than a box of different games. If you are choosing it for a particular child, the listed age information deserves attention: the product name says from age three, while the specification gives a minimum age of 48 months. Those claims do not match, so the age guidance is not completely clear from the supplied details.

Strengths

Its main point of difference is the double-sided design. A conventional jigsaw gives children the assembly task, here, turning it over leads into a colouring activity, so the same item offers two kinds of engagement. Would that extra step be useful for your child? It may appeal if they enjoy both picture puzzles and colouring, or if you want one activity that can be approached in stages.

The Little Mermaid theme gives the finished image a recognisable focus, while putting the pieces together can encourage attention to shapes and visual details. These are intended learning benefits, not a guarantee of a particular developmental outcome. It suits you if a themed puzzle with a creative follow-on activity is more appealing than a basic jigsaw alone.

There is, however, conflicting product information: the feature description says 60 pieces and 50 x 35 cm, while the specification lists one piece and dimensions of 35 x 35 cm. The one-piece entry may refer to the included puzzle rather than the jigsaw piece count, but the measurements also differ. It’s not for you if you need a confirmed finished size or piece count before buying.

Final verdict

This Lisciani Giochi puzzle is most compelling for a child who would enjoy both assembling a themed picture and colouring its reverse. Its double-sided format sets it apart from a straightforward jigsaw, and the supplied details identify cardboard as the material. The inconsistent size, piece-count and age information is a practical reason to seek clarification if those details determine your choice. If they are not decisive, the core idea is clear: complete the scene, turn it over, and continue with the colouring activity.
