Theo Klein 7186 Miele Wooden Toy Kitchen with Light and Sound
Product description
If you are choosing between a simple play setup and a kitchen with several features to explore, the Theo Klein 7186 Miele brings together a hob, microwave, fridge and removable sink in one wooden unit. Its light and sound effects add another element to pretend cooking, while the included wooden and metal utensils give children props for role play.
The kitchen is white, made from wood and MDF, and is designed for children aged three and over. It needs two AA batteries for the hob effects, they are not included, so it will not be ready for those features straight out of the box.
Fit and sizing
At 70 cm x 30 cm x 95 cm, this is a floor-standing play kitchen with a worktop height of 55 cm. The product description says the height is adjustable, which may help it suit growing children, although the listed overall dimensions are a useful guide to the space it will occupy. It weighs 9.5 kilograms, so it is worth considering where it will stay rather than treating it as a small, portable toy.
The removable sink can be taken out for cleaning, and the layout includes a stove, microwave, fridge with an ice dispenser and storage areas. The set is intended for imaginative cooking and serving, with utensils such as a pot with lid, frying pan, whisk and spoons. It is a good fit if a child enjoys copying everyday kitchen routines and having several play features in one place. The small parts mean it is not suitable for children under three.
Why it makes sense
Rather than focusing on a single appliance or a very basic pretend-cooking set-up, this kitchen combines several familiar areas for different kinds of role play. Children can move between preparing food at the hob, using the microwave, storing pretend ingredients in the fridge and washing up at the sink. That gives the toy a clear use in open-ended play, without needing to add a separate play appliance to create a fuller kitchen scene.
The hob has double lighting and sound effects, powered by batteries, while the sink is removable. These are practical details to weigh against a simpler wooden kitchen: the added features may suit children who enjoy interactive details, but the batteries are an extra requirement. The manufacturer also describes the wood as FSC certified. This is a substantial toy rather than a compact accessory, so its dimensions and the available floor space matter as much as the number of features.

Buying verdict
The Theo Klein 7186 is most suited to a child who will make use of a multi-part kitchen for imaginative play, and to a home with room for its 70 cm x 30 cm footprint. The appliances, removable sink and light-and-sound hob offer more variety than a stripped-back pretend kitchen, while the wooden and metal accessories help make the play feel more complete. You may want to skip it if you need a toy that can be used with its electronic effects immediately, as the required batteries are not supplied. The under-three warning is also important because the set contains small parts.
