Le Creuset Stoneware Grand Mug 70304407770002, 400ml, Shell Pink

Everyday use

At 400ml, this Shell Pink mug is sized for a generous hot drink, including a cappuccino. Its stoneware construction and smooth enamel finish give it a straightforward role in daily use, from a morning coffee to tea at your desk. The stated dimensions are L11.4 x W15.1 x H8.2 cm. Its capacity is fixed at 400ml, so it may feel larger than needed if you prefer a small cup.

The mug is dishwasher safe, and the product details also list it as suitable for microwave, oven and freezer use. That range of stated uses makes it more flexible than a mug intended only for serving drinks, though it remains a single mug rather than a set. It is supplied with a care and use booklet, which is useful if you want guidance on looking after the enamel finish.

What stands out

The practical draw is the combination of a generous capacity and several care and use options. The enamel is described as chip-resistant, and the stoneware is said to retain heat. It is also specified to withstand temperatures up to 260°C, that is a stated material limit, not a serving temperature recommendation. The smooth enamel can be handwashed, or the mug can go in the dishwasher.

Shell Pink and the floral theme give it a more decorative look than a plain, utilitarian cup. If colour matters to your kitchen or you want a mug that can sit out between drinks, that may be part of the appeal. In contrast, a smaller cup may be the more suitable approach for short drinks or for anyone who prefers less capacity. It suits you if you want one stoneware mug for cappuccino and other hot drinks, with dishwasher-safe cleaning. Better avoided if you specifically want a smaller-volume cup.

Can it go in the dishwasher? Yes. It is listed as dishwasher safe, and the smooth enamel can also be handwashed.

Can it be used in an oven or freezer? Both are listed as suitable uses, alongside microwave use. The stoneware is stated to withstand temperatures up to 260°C, follow the supplied care and use booklet for handling guidance.

Should you buy it?

This is a considered fit if you want a 400ml stoneware mug with a decorative Shell Pink finish and convenient cleaning options. Its stated heat retention, chip-resistant enamel and oven, microwave and freezer suitability give it broader everyday use than a basic drink-only mug. The listed 10-year guarantee may also matter when choosing a mug for regular use, although the guarantee terms are not provided here. Choose it for cappuccino or another larger hot drink, if your priority is a compact cup, its capacity is the clearest reason to look elsewhere.
