Feluna Mermaid Tail Blanket, knitted acrylic blanket, 180 x 85 cm, violet purple

Some people want a throw they can spread across a sofa, others want a snug, shaped layer for keeping their legs and feet warm while they sit. The Feluna Mermaid Tail Blanket is designed for the second kind of use, with a knitted tail shape that wraps around the lower body and leaves the arms free.

At 180 x 85 cm, it is an adult-size blanket in violet purple acrylic, with a flared mermaid fin that also gives it a decorative look when not in use.

Key features

The main difference from a standard flat throw is the enclosed tail design. It gathers around the tummy, legs and feet, so it is suited to sitting still on the sofa or in a chair rather than spreading over several people or different parts of a room. For a film evening, for example, the shape offers a cosy way to keep your lower half covered while your hands remain free to hold a book or remote.

The blanket is knitted from acrylic and described as breathable, skin-friendly and suitable for all seasons. Those details point to a flexible indoor layer, including for a cooler evening on a terrace, they do not specify a warmth rating, so how cosy it feels will depend on the room and what you wear underneath. The solid violet purple colour and fin-shaped end make it more of a playful home accessory than a discreet, conventional throw.

Tips for day-to-day use

The sleeping-bag style works best when you plan to remain seated, as the blanket is shaped around the legs rather than laid out as a full-sized cover. Keep it nearby for reading in a chair or relaxing on the sofa, then let the fin shape show as part of the room’s decor. Its arms-free design is useful when you want your upper body uncovered while your feet stay tucked in.

No specific washing or care instructions are provided in the product details. Check the care label before cleaning, particularly as the material is acrylic and the blanket is knitted, the supplied information does not confirm a particular washing method or how it behaves after repeated washes.

Who it’s for

It suits you if you want a distinctive, adult-size blanket for solo lounging and like the mermaid-tail look. The 180 x 85 cm dimensions give you a clear size reference when deciding whether it will fit your intended seat or storage space. It could also work as a themed gift for someone who enjoys mermaids or playful home accessories, without relying on a particular character or film.

You may want to skip it if you prefer a plain, flat throw that can be repositioned freely or shared. The shaped design is the point here, but it also makes this a more specific choice than a general-purpose blanket. Is the novelty useful as well as decorative? If you expect to use it mainly while seated, the tail format has a practical purpose, if you need broad, flexible coverage, a conventional throw is the more adaptable approach.

Buying verdict

The Feluna blanket is worth considering for sofa or chair lounging when keeping your legs and feet cosy matters more than having a cover that can be spread in different ways. Its acrylic knit, breathable description, all-season positioning and violet mermaid-fin design make its intended use clear. Choose it for a shaped, personal snuggle layer with a decorative twist, choose a flat blanket instead if versatility across people and settings is your priority.
