SONGMICS LTB031WZ02 30L Steel Pedal Bin with Soft-Close Lid, Cloud White

The foot pedal opens this 30L bin without requiring you to touch the lid, making it handy when your hands are busy with cooking or cleaning. The soft-close lid then shuts quietly, rather than dropping closed.

Its removable inner bucket has a handle, so you can lift it out for emptying and cleaning. The steel exterior is finished in Cloud White, with a round shape suited to a kitchen, living room or bathroom.

The lid can remain open at 90° for longer tasks such as meal preparation. The bin is for indoor use only, and the maker recommends leaving 5 cm between it and the wall for optimal opening.

Everyday use

A hands-free pedal is useful when you are preparing food or carrying rubbish, as it avoids having to lift the lid by hand. For a longer job, the lid’s stay-open position gives you room to dispose of waste without repeatedly stepping on the pedal. Keep the suggested clearance from the wall so the lid can open as intended.

The removable bucket makes emptying more manageable than lifting or tipping the whole bin. Its handle also helps when taking the bucket to be cleaned. For routine care, the product information recommends wiping the bin with a damp cloth and using mild detergent if needed. The pedal is described as tested for 150,000 steps, that is a stated test figure, rather than a measure of how long it will last in every home.

Compared with a basic open bin, this model adds a lid, pedal and quieter closing action, which may suit a shared indoor space where an open top is less convenient. It is still a 30-litre bin, so the stated capacity is the key consideration if you are choosing between a compact household bin and one intended to hold more waste.

What you get

The package includes the bin with its removable inner bucket and 15 bin liners. Having liners supplied means you can set it up for use straight away, while the included bag size gives a reference when looking for replacements. The product listing also mentions stickers, though the package contents specifically list the bin and 15 bags.

Final verdict

It’s a good fit if you want a 30-litre indoor bin with hands-free opening, a removable bucket and a lid that closes quietly. The stay-open setting is especially useful during meal preparation or a longer clean-up. Not the best choice if you need a bin for outdoor use, as the product is specified for indoor use only. Check that its 30-litre capacity suits your household and that the recommended wall clearance works in the space you have.
