If you want to simplify control of your TV and set-top box, the Hama 00221056 brings both within reach of one universal infrared remote. Its large, clearly arranged buttons make everyday operation straightforward, with a layout designed to keep things simple.

It can control up to two devices, helping reduce the need to switch between separate remotes when watching TV or using a set-top box. Pre-programmed support for more than 1,000 devices and a learning function give you practical options for setting it up.

For a living room where easy-to-use controls matter, the 10 m range offers room to operate your devices from across the space. The black remote has 31 buttons and uses two AAA batteries, which are included.

Tips for day-to-day use

Use the supplied code list to find a pre-programmed code for your device, or use the remote’s automatic code search for supported AV equipment. Direct code entry is another programming option. Once set up, you can use one remote for the TV and set-top box rather than keeping both controls to hand.

The learning function lets you transfer functions from an original remote, so you can assign the controls you use to the Hama remote. This is useful when you want to keep familiar functions while bringing everyday operation together in a single, simple layout. Its large buttons are also handy for users who prefer clearly spaced controls without an overly complicated arrangement.

If you are choosing between keeping separate controls and using a universal remote, this model is intended for a straightforward two-device setup. The pre-programmed codes offer a route to setup, while learning gives you another way to customise key functions.

In the box

The box contains the Hama universal remote, two AAA micro batteries, a code list and an instruction manual. The batteries mean you have the required power source ready for setup.

Practical questions

Which devices can it control? It supports up to two devices, including a television and a set-top box. The pre-programmed code library covers more than 1,000 devices, including models from Samsung, LG, Philips, Panasonic, Sony and Grundig.

Can I transfer functions from my current remote? Yes. Use the learning function to copy functions from an original remote to the Hama, helping you retain the controls that matter to you.

How can I programme it for a device? You can use direct code entry with the supplied code list, or the automatic code search for supported AV equipment. The learning function provides a further option for transferring individual functions.
