Getting the most from it

The membrane switches are designed for quiet, responsive keystrokes, making the keyboard practical for a desk used for both gaming and everyday typing. During play, 12-key rollover helps register multiple simultaneous key presses, while polling up to 1000Hz supports responsive input for complex actions. These specifications give you useful controls for fast-paced games without making the keyboard’s other everyday functions an afterthought.

Use the four dedicated media buttons to adjust volume or playback without leaving a game or switching away from what you are doing. The Windows Lock button gives you a handy way to manage that key during play, and the brightness control lets you adjust the keyboard lighting directly. For a more personalised setup, organise the ten RGB zones in CORSAIR iCUE and choose lighting effects to suit your desk. The keyboard connects through USB-A and draws power over USB, so it is a wired option for a compatible setup.

Practical tips

Check that QWERTZ DE is the layout you want before choosing this version, particularly if you switch between keyboards with different layouts. For gaming, the combination of rollover and dedicated controls is useful when several keys or media commands are part of your routine. For shared desk use, the quieter membrane keystrokes and adjustable RGB lighting offer a more subdued alternative to a keyboard chosen primarily for louder, more tactile switches.

The K55 CORE RGB is also splash-resistant up to 300ml, a useful feature around a desk where drinks are kept nearby. Treat that as protection against spills rather than a reason to expose the keyboard to water deliberately.

Before you decide

Is the K55 CORE RGB suitable for Mac? It is listed for PC and Mac, and connects through a wired USB-A connection.

Can you customise the lighting? Yes. The keyboard has ten RGB lighting zones, which you can customise using CORSAIR iCUE.

Are the keys quiet? The keyboard uses quiet, responsive membrane switches, so it is designed for gaming, typing and chat where a quieter keypress is welcome.

Buying verdict

The Corsair K55 CORE RGB is a practical fit for players who want a wired gaming keyboard with quiet membrane keys, dedicated media controls and customisable ten-zone RGB. Its 12-key rollover, Windows Lock control and spill resistance add useful details for a gaming desk that also handles everyday work. Choose this QWERTZ DE version when that layout suits your setup.
