Blukar K9171 Mini Pen Torch, Rechargeable LED, 4 Modes and Zoomable Focus

Four lighting modes and adjustable focus let this Blukar mini pen torch switch from a broad beam to a more concentrated light. Its compact aluminium body clips onto clothing or a bag, keeping illumination close at hand for inspections and repairs. Rechargeable power and a memory function make it practical for regular jobs.

What to know

The K9171 combines three brightness levels—high, medium and low—with an SOS mode that can be activated by double-clicking the power button. Use the zoomable focus to move between floodlight and spotlight modes, choosing a wider spread for a work area or a more concentrated beam for checking a specific point. The torch remembers the last mode used, so it is ready in the setting you prefer when you switch it on again.

An 800mAh lithium-ion battery powers the LED and recharges through the concealed USB-C port, revealed by pulling the lamp head. A nearby indicator shows red while charging and green when fully charged, a full charge takes around 2 hours. The USB-C cable is included. The aluminium alloy body measures 12.6 x 2.4 x 2 cm and weighs 60g, making it easy to carry alongside everyday tools. Its waterproof design helps it handle splashes and rain during outdoor tasks.

Buyers often praise the torch’s compact size, brightness and portability, with its rechargeable design also noted as convenient. Feedback on functionality is mixed, so these comments are best read as individual experiences rather than a guarantee of performance.

Tips for day-to-day use

The pen clip gives you a quick way to attach the torch to a pocket, collar or backpack strap, while the supplied lanyard offers another carrying option. That leaves your hands free when you are checking a cupboard, inspecting a repair or setting up equipment in a dim corner. Its pen-shaped format also makes it easy to keep in a coat pocket or tool bag without carrying a larger torch.

For close-up work, start with the focused beam and adjust the zoom to suit the area you need to see. Switch to floodlight mode when you want a broader view of the surrounding workspace. The three brightness settings let you choose how much light to use for the task, while the SOS mode is available by double-clicking the switch.

Usage tips

Pull the lamp head to expose the charging port, then connect the included USB-C cable. Check the indicator beside the port: it glows red during charging and turns green when charging is complete. Once charged, the torch recalls the last lighting mode used, helping you get back to a familiar setting without cycling through every option.

To turn it off, either press and hold the switch or use a short press after the torch has been in a mode for 8 seconds. This gives you a direct way to shut it down during a task. For outdoor use in rain or around splashes, the waterproof design adds practical reassurance, dry the torch and store it with your other equipment after use.

Final verdict

The Blukar K9171 is a handy choice for anyone who wants a compact rechargeable light for inspection, repair and everyday carry. Its clip-on design, adjustable beam and mix of brightness and SOS modes make it useful for moving between close-up checks and wider work areas. Choose it when a pen-style torch that is easy to carry and recharge suits your regular jobs better than a larger handheld light.
