YiaMia YNYD-73 8-Inch Rechargeable Under-Cabinet Lights, 5-Pack with Motion Sensor

For kitchens, closets and stairwells that need convenient indoor lighting, this five-pack of YiaMia rechargeable lights adds illumination where it is useful.

Each 8-inch bar has a cool-light LED output and three brightness settings, so you can adjust the light for a counter, shelf or storage area.

Choose motion-sensor mode for hands-free lighting or always-on mode for steady illumination. Magnetic mounting makes it practical to position the bars under cabinets and in other indoor spaces.

Why it makes sense

A set of five gives you the flexibility to light more than one area, such as a kitchen counter and a closet, or several shelves along a hallway. The wireless, battery-powered design avoids the need to place each light near a power outlet, while the rechargeable format lets you charge the lights for continued use.

For daily tasks, three brightness levels—60%, 80% and 100%—make it easy to choose between a softer glow and a brighter work surface. The cool light has a stated colour temperature of 6000 Kelvin. Use motion-sensor mode for areas you pass through in low light, or switch to always-on mode when you want continuous illumination while working.

Key features

Each light uses 42 LEDs and measures 20 x 4 x 2 centimetres. The motion sensor detects movement within 16 ft and the light turns off after 15 seconds without motion. Sensor mode is intended for low-light settings, it cannot be used in brightly lit environments. Always-on mode provides an alternative when you need the light to stay on.

Mount the bars magnetically on compatible iron surfaces. Iron sheets are included for placement where a direct magnetic surface is not available, and the installation is designed to avoid tools or screws. The lights are for indoor use, making them suitable for areas such as cabinets, pantries, bedrooms, workshops, garages and stairwells.

Recharge by USB-C. A full charge takes 3–5 hours, stated use is up to 5 hours in always-on mode or 7–30 days in motion-sensor mode, depending on frequency of use. Customers highlight the lighting quality and versatility, while feedback is more varied on reliability, battery life, brightness and magnetic strength.

How to use it

Position each bar beneath a cabinet, shelf or other intended indoor surface, using a magnetic surface or an included iron sheet as the mounting point. Select one of the three brightness levels, then choose motion-sensor mode for automatic lighting or always-on mode for a steady beam. In sensor mode, place the light where it will be used in low-light conditions so movement can trigger it as intended. Recharge the lights by USB-C when needed, allow 3–5 hours for a full charge.
