OHLUX GLS-18J2P-E17-G40- Solar String Lights, 120 ft, 52 ST38 LEDs

Getting the most from it

At 120 feet, this solar string light can bring a continuous warm glow to a patio, deck, gazebo or garden gathering space. The black plastic string holds 52 shatterproof ST38 LED filament bulbs, with a traditional Edison-inspired look. Its 2200 K warm-white light creates a softer evening atmosphere. Would adjustable brightness and automatic dusk-to-dawn operation make outdoor lighting easier to manage? Both are built into this set.

Place the solar panel where it receives direct sunlight, away from shade, to support charging. When sunlight is limited, the lights also support Type-C charging. After charging, keep the port’s rubber cover securely closed for outdoor use. The dusk-to-dawn sensor switches the lights off during the day and on at night, while the timer and brightness settings let you tailor the lighting to the occasion.

What you’ll notice day to day

Use the remote or the buttons on the solar panel to choose among four brightness levels, three lighting effects and timer settings of 6 or 8 hours, or the default 10-hour setting. The lights are rated for up to 10 hours of operation at 100% brightness. That flexibility suits both a relaxed evening outdoors and a dinner or get-together where you want a more defined glow overhead.

For a practical setup, run the linear string along a gazebo edge or across a deck seating area, positioning the panel in a sunny spot. Compared with a fixed-output decorative string, adjustable brightness and timers give you more control over the atmosphere and how long the lights stay on. Buyers appreciate the warm glow, appearance and straightforward hanging process, comments about durability are mixed, so impressions vary.

Practical questions

Will the lights turn on automatically at night? The dusk-to-dawn sensor turns them off during daylight and on after dark. If the surrounding area is still bright, the lights may remain off until it gets darker.

Can I use them when there hasn’t been enough sunlight? Yes. Type-C charging is available as an alternative when sunlight is insufficient. Close the charging port’s rubber cover securely after charging before using the lights outdoors.

How can I help the solar panel charge effectively? Set it in an unshaded location and angle it toward direct sunlight. A sunny placement helps the panel receive the light it needs to charge.

Final verdict

These 120-foot solar string lights suit outdoor spaces where a long run, vintage-style bulbs and warm-white illumination can make seating or dining areas feel more inviting. Remote controls, adjustable brightness, timers and automatic dusk-to-dawn operation add practical control, while solar and Type-C charging offer two ways to keep the lights ready for evening use.
